February: The Practice of Paying Attention

THIS SUNDAY
SCHOOL SUNDAY
February 22, 2015
10:30am-11:30am

The Practice of Paying Attention
with Rev. Ron Moor

Paying attention brings a deeper connecting. Deeper connecting most often calls for slowing down. Slower living is more soulful living.  How do we begin to slow down? What do we let go, what do we gain? How do we create more of an intentional, slower paced, higher presence, spiritual community? With luminous images, inspirational quotes, and sacred chant.

  KIDS WITH SPIRIT
THIS SUNDAY
February 22, 2015
10:30am-11:30am

2014-2015 Theme: The JOY Path.

"When you do things from your soul,
you feel a river moving in you, a joy."
   ~ Rumi
NEXT SUNDAY
March 1, 2015
   10:30am-11:30am

Clothing: An Unexpected
  Road to Self Discovery
    with guest speaker
    DanMichael Batista
         and musician
          Bruce Menier Bell

Through story telling, DanMichael will recreate the winding road that brought him to discover the power of dressing with intention.  Therein lay a path to self discovery and self actualization with the ability to create self responsibility, power and confidence.

DanMichael will show how giving attention to this seemingly superficial area of life can create a movement of beautiful, loving men standing up and speaking out as one to bring their unique God-given gifts to the world, while ushering in the evolution of the multidimensional man.
LAST SUNDAY
February 15, 2015

"Making the World
More Beautiful"
with
guest speaker Kaia Svien
and musician Yazmin Bowers

Kaia, a long time teacher of mindfulness and more, brought to us the sweetness of Valentine's Day (as it is about loving more completely) and it tied into the metro-wide preach in faith communities today about caring for creation.  She spoke about aligning our inner world so that we can more fully care for creation.  Following our February theme of paying attention, we mindfully looked at ways the ego often blocks our experience of interconnection.  Kaia's amazing words and understanding are well worth your investment of time.  Listen by clicking here.

  Channeling Event
            with
      Patti Gmeiner,
      Jeanne Lecher,
and Beth Marquardt

Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015
9:30am-12:00pm
$10 minimum donation

Channeling is information that comes through the higher perspective of Spirit. When a question is asked, it is Spirit that provides the answer. It is Spirit's intent to provide clarity and understanding along with healing and shifting in various areas of the seeker's life.

Each session provides variations in perspectives on the same questions. Questions should be asked in such a way as to require more than just a "yes" or "no" answer. The more involved the questions, the more information is contained in the answer.

All welcome for a morning of answers and fun!

All beliefs are welcome.

Learn to co-create your own health and well-being in this popular class. Using Machaelle Small Wright's work connecting with the alliance of souls assisting the co-creation of humanity's evolutionary patterns, we will guide students in an experiential understanding of the co-creative process of healing. This class has required reading and practice between class sessions. By completion of the class, students will have initiated and established a personal energetic healing team and practice using the protocol developed by Ms. Wright. Expect humor and profound experiences of healing!

Do you want more love, more joy, more whole-hearted living? Brene Brown studied people who believed in their own worth, were courageous, and were connected to others empathically.  What they had in common was that they moved beyond the universal sense of shame, of unworthiness, that is common to us all.  Come learn how uncovering shame can help us develop openness, vulnerability and authenticity.

PAYING ATTENTION
QUOTES & SUGGESTIONS

You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one.  Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own.  Its a matter of paying attention to this miracle.                                                           ~ Paulo Coehlo

The present moment is filled with joy and happiness.  If you are attentive, you will see it.
                                               ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Ways To Pay More Attention
  • Don't rush. Slo-o-o-o-o-o-ow down.
  • Take breaks frequently.
  • Get plenty of sleep. You've heard it before - 7 to 8 hours minimum each night.
  • Exercise. Walking around the block is a good start.
  • Stop procrastinating.
  • Get help if you have too much to do, so that you can take the time you need to fulfill the task.
  • Eat nutritious food and remain hydrated.
  • Avoid harmful substances.
  • Alternate between easy or unfulfilling tasks and tedious or exciting tasks.
  • Learn relaxation skills through hypnosis.
  • Practice. Practice picking out details just like a criminal investigator does while investigating a crime.
  • Make a conscious effort to notice things that may cause a problem or be an obstacle.
  • Sharpen your mental functions through brain exercises.
  • Organize your life.
  • Don't over fill your life with activities. Quality is better than quantity.

~ The Redhead Riter
