January 21, 2015
Greetings!
Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralyzed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds' wings. ~ Rumi

THIS SUNDAY
SCHOOL SUNDAY January 25, 2015 10:30am-11:30am
What Is Really Real? Opening to the Presence of Spirit
with Rev. Ron Moor
Why are more and more astute cultural observers agreeing that all the crises we are facing are spiritual in nature? That the prevailing "story" of our civilization is one of separation, from each other, from nature, from spirit? And that this old story is in process of being re-written? What this old story is and how we can participate in the creating of the new story is the theme of our first School Sunday of 2015. With luminous images, inspirational quotes and sacred chant.
....ultimately our salvation must come from recovering a direct relationship to what's alive in front of us. Charles Eisenstein

~ Rumi

NEXT SUNDAY

"The Alchemy
of Spiritual Practice"
with
guest speaker Anne Westfall
and musician Yazmin Bowers
Alchemy has been described as being about evolution and raising the vibratory rate. It has also been associated with the practice of transformation and transmutation of something of little worth into something of great value.
Are you a modern day Alchemist?

Be Still And Know-The Tao of Meditation
Wed. Mornings
10:00am-11:30am
$20 per class
Deepen your meditative practice or begin one by joining us. We will gather weekly to read, meditate, and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year old text of The Tao Te Ching. These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions. Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30 minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today.

"If your mind carries a heavy burden of past, you will experience more of the same. The past perpetuates itself through lack of presence. The quality of your consciousness at this moment is what shapes the future."
~ Eckhart Tolle
"Let others see their own greatness when looking in your eyes." ~ Mollie Marti
"Surrender your own poverty and acknowledge your nothingness to the Lord. Whether you understand it or not, God loves you, is present in you, lives in you, dwells in you, calls you, saves you and offers you an understanding and compassion which are like nothing you have ever found in a book or heard in a sermon." ~ Thomas Marton
