NEXT SUNDAY
SCHOOL SUNDAY January 25, 2015 10:30am-11:30am
What Is Really Real? Opening to the Presence of Spirit
with Rev. Ron Moor
Why are more and more astute cultural observers agreeing that all the crises we are facing are spiritual in nature? That the prevailing "story" of our civilization is one of separation, from each other, from nature, from spirit. And that this old story is in process of being re-written? What this old story is and how we can participate in the creating of the new story is the theme of our first School Sunday of 2015. With luminous images, inspirational quotes and sacred chant.
....ultimately our salvation must come from recovering a direct relationship to what's alive in front of us. Charles Eisenstein

LAST SUNDAY January 11, 2015
Blessed Gift of Joy Is Bestowed Upon the People
with
SU's Kids With Spirit, Shannon Dufresne and musician Bret Hesla
The children and Shannon shared an adaptation of a traditional story from the Kanglanek people telling how joy came to earth as a gift for humans to change the drudgery of life. A community member's response: "I think today at SU was definitely heaven. And that saying I mentioned in the service was born out from me. Unless you become as children, you won't experience heaven. Well, we all got to be kids and got some time in heaven today." To listen click here.

Channeling Event
with
Patti Gmeiner, Jeanne Lecher,
and Beth Marquardt
Saturday, January 17, 2015
9:30am-12:00pm
$10 minimum donation
Channeling is information that comes through the higher perspective of Spirit. When a question is asked, it is Spirit that provides the answer. It is Spirit's intent to provide clarity and understanding along with healing and shifting in various areas of the seeker's life. Each session provides variations in perspectives on the same questions. Questions should be asked in such a way as to require more than just a "yes" or "no" answer. The more involved the questions, the more information is contained in the answer.
All welcome for a morning of answers and fun!
All beliefs are welcome.

Deepen your meditative practice or begin one by joining us. We will gather weekly to read, meditate, and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year old text of The Tao Te Ching. These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions. Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30 minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today.

Enhanced Prayer Ministry One Year Anniversary
In December of 2013, two community members presented a proposal for a new, more accessible and dynamic prayer ministry at SU. Three members in particular expressed their vision and desire for a vibrant, collective prayer group. These three souls, Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan, have since made their transition. We honor them with much gratitude for their loving inspiration.
Enhanced Prayer was finally launched in January 2014. Two women and two men from our community made the commitment. Raphael Holden gifted the ministry a beautiful, wooden prayer box to replace the cardboard box we first used.
Over the past year, nearly 100 individuals placed prayer requests in the box located near the meditation room. (Remember it is available to anyone who has a need for prayer.) These prayers are then enhanced by the prayer minister's individual practices and our once-a-month group meditation practice..
Today we have seven people dedicated to this practice of gifting prayer requests to the One, the Healing Presence. In every situation with compassion and love we ask for highest good to prevail.
At SU's 2014 Winter Solstice Celebration, each paper prayer request received during the year was released to the heavens in the sacred fire ceremony closing 2014 to make room for 2015.
Enhanced Prayer Ministry is here as you need.
With love and care,
Your Enhanced Prayer Ministers:
Caroline, Deb, Eliot, Gregg, Janet, Joan, Sandy
