  "The Yellow Brick Road"

Is there a Dorothy in each of us, wondering what life is really about and yearning for something more meaningful? What hidden gems might we discover in this wondrous, classic American fairytale? For those with eyes to see and ears to hear, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has much to say.  With luminous images, inspirational quotes, and sacred chant.

"Advent Means To Come"
with Rev. Carol Parrish-Hara

Rev. Parrish and her teachings are the foundation from which Spirit United was built.  She has influenced and touched the hearts of many.  Her wisdom will envelop you.

Rev. Carol Parrish-Hara's Biography

Rev. Carol Parrish-Hara's Bio: Long recognized as an inspired spiritual leader and author, Carol's personal quest for spiritual awareness began when she had a near death experience at 24. She has traveled world-wide as a seeker and student of the ageless wisdom teachings.

Ordained in 1971, Carol left a promising business career to devote herself to her ministry and lecturing in the human potential movement and established the community of Sparrow Hawk Village near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. There she served as President of Light of Christ Community Church until 2009 and Academic Dean of Sancta Sophia Seminary until her retirement in June 1, 2010.  Since then, she is as busy as ever teaching, writing and conducting seminars all over the country.

Register:  At SU or click here to contact the office.

As we begin, we are dedicated; we study and be the best person we can.   With love and caring we open our hearts, live a life of hope and invoke right action as we do our best. Service is our outlet as we go deeper into privacy. In time as a true student of Life, we discover that while we did not seek to be a mystic, the path sought us.

Carol will be giving the message at the Sunday Service  Nov. 30 as well.  Her message is entitled "Advent Means To Come."

Wa

 Wags and Worship Tithes

to North Star Therapy Animals

We had a dream - Wags and Worship. For 1-1/2 years, James and I showed up early at Spirit United the first Sunday of each month - ready to preach, sing and be with the animals who wanted to "be" too. People came, dogs wagged, and we shared in the mystery of Great Spirit together. During this time 1/3 of the offerings were collected to tithe.

I've sat with the tithing since the WagsNWorship onset of Wags and Worship and allowed it to grow and collect energy in an envelope in our home. It mattered to me that we choose a place who had heart for which to give the donation. I struggled in finding an organization who had that type of connection. Many suggestions were given to me, but nothing was resonating until I put my intention on Facebook. My criteria was to find someplace that worked with disadvantaged youth and women who were trying to get their feet back on the ground in some way.

After many responses like, "Boy, I wish there was some place like that!" a client came to me and told me about the non-profit North Star Therapy Animals. Click here for their link.

When I clicked on the site, I saw two more colleagues and clients working with children, adults, guinea pigs, dogs....my heart said an immediate, "YES!" (Thank you Patti, Jennifer and Nancy for your work in the world, sharing so freely, and connecting with me so deeply over the years.) We gave to them $170.

Wagging,
Sage and James

Spirit United Is Creating a Community Directory

We are building a Community Directory with personal photos, so we can more easily get to know each other, organize activities together, and provide mutual support to one another.

Before and after Sunday Services in November photographers will be available to take pictures.

You can provide your own photo via email to Jerry Buchmeier.  (Click here.)

There will be a section for couples and family photos.

We will not publish any information without your permission, and we won't make this info available for commercial use.

The project will be low cost, and we will provide these directories to members and friends at minimal or no charge.

For questions about the process and what information to submit with your photo, contact Jerry by clicking here.
