"An Attitude of Gratitude"

with Bettie Seitzer

and musician Dale Seitzer

For most of us it is easy to say "thank you" when we receive a gift; but gratitude is so much more than that. Gratitude is a way of life that will change a person's mood, health and relationship to their family, community and world. It is easiest to feel grateful when things are going well, not as easy when the going gets tough. Approaching all of life's challenges with an attitude of gratitude is worth the effort, and can become a daily habit that will create ripples of positivity!

NEXT SUNDAY

10:30am-11:30am

"Homecoming"
with Rev. Ron Moor

The mystical journey of our living is first an expansion outward from wholeness into individuality. Then a conscious return as we respond to The Call. We learn to look beneath the surface of our experience to find energies of transmutation at work. We come "home" with an expanded awareness, and greater appreciation for the journey. On this Sunday before Veterans Day, we will honor the veteran in each of us that longs for home.

"You can never go home again, but the truth is you can never leave home, so it's all right."     ~Maya Angelou

A Rumi quote Ron used is as follows:

".....The whole world
  is a form for truth.
When someone does not feel grateful
to that,
the forms appear to be as he feels.
They mirror his anger, his greed, and his fear.

Make peace with the universe. Take joy in it.

It will turn to gold.

Resurrection will be now.

Every moment, a new beauty."

Journey to the Land of the Forever Spring:
Our Trip to Guatemala

Guatemala is one of the most beautiful countries in the Western Hemisphere. Is is also one of the poorest.

For 13 days Sandy Field and I were a combination of pilgrim, volunteer, and tourist in that amazing land. I can hardly begin to describe my experiences.

I spent most of my days with an organization called Common Hope, based here in Minnesota. We were there with a team of doctors and nurses that go for a week every year to perform surgery on poor people who cannot afford to pay for desperately needed operations. It was Sandy's 9th trip as a volunteer surgical nurse.  It was the first time I have ever been south of the border. I was classed as a "non-medical" and put to work as a volunteer for some of the many projects Common Hope has there.

While she was in the operating room, I helped build wall sections for a prefab home, assisted in a preschool (loved the kids!), held babies in an orphanage, accompanied a social worker visiting poor families receiving support from Common Hope, spent a day in a village named New Hope that Common Hope has helped create for families that lost everything in a devastating hurricane, and visited with a coffee grower that has organized other small farmers into a co-op in order to have more clout with the coffee buyers.

During the day I was often with very poor people struggling to create a life of hope. In the evening Sandy and I would join with various members of the surgical team to eat meals at excellent restaurants. A real dichotomy.

Sandy and I did play tourist for a few days, visiting a couple of Mayan towns around Lake Atitlan and the market at Chichicastenango. All pretty mind blowing.

Through Common Hope, Sandy sponsors two Guatemalan young women. One graduates from high school next November, quite an accomplishment in that impoverished country. It looks like the timing of both events will make it possible to combine Sandy's surgical work with attending the graduation. We are going back.

Sandy is with Faibola, who will be graduating next year.

And I (Ron) am with my friends.

Sandy and I want to put together a presentation of our experiences and offer it to our community. So stay tuned for a date and time.

Susan Van Sant Intuitive reading while drawing soul portraits
Susan uses the vibrational energies of a person's voice to trigger images which she then sketches on charcoal paper with artist pencils. Alternating between drawing and describing what she sees, she gathers additional information as the drawing progresses. The finished image captures information about one's Soul, the present path, occasionally past life information Susan Van Sant Intuitive reading while drawing soul portraitswhich may be pertinent to challenges in this lifetime, and where one's journey is leading.  People have  reported they are able to unfold more information through meditation as they contemplate the images within their portrait.

"The Call to the Mystic"

As we begin, we are dedicated; we study and be the best person we can.   With love and caring we open our hearts, live a life of hope and invoke right action as we do our best. Service is our outlet as we go deeper into privacy. In time as a true student of Life, we discover that while we did not seek to be a mystic, the path sought us.
