A Gift of Freedom"with Dr. Mark Umbreit
Dr. Umbreit will share of his own life experience and his work with people from around the world (including Palestine and Israel) with the struggle to let go after conflict and trauma. The act of letting go and finding peace is forgiveness. It is a transformative shift in the energy between former adversaries. This can happen when one comes face-to-face in restorative justice and dialogue. The healing power of story is the guiding path. It reveals supreme importance of humanizing one's adversaries and humbling ourselves. This is the guiding spirit. In this School Sunday format practical tools for the journey of authentic forgiveness will also be offered.

Many of us started our journey feeling alone, pushing our way through a thicket of claims and confusions. When we did pause to look around, we found we are not so alone. We began to meet others learning this new language, exploring this different culture. We also discovered that countless souls have gone before us, leaving footprints. We will explore companionship, inner, outer, visible and ineffable. We are Companions Along

We are pleased to announce the second in our concert series featuring local artist Barbara McAfee in concert and in conversation to provide a more intimate connection with Ms. McAfee, her gifts, and creativity.
Barbara McAfee is a singer, songwriter, keynote speaker, author, and voice coach who merges lessons from 12 years in organizational development with the transformative power of music. Barbara is the founder of the Morning Star Singers, a group of volunteers who bring songs of comfort and healing to people in hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes.
Your evening's host is James Schattauer, our music director. James will provide pre-concert music and help facilitate conversation between Ms. McAfee and the audience.
Barbara's CDs and book will be available for sale.

THE HEALING WHEEL
OF LIFE

This land, Minnesota/Wisconsin on Turtle Island, has its own organic holiness. In this intermediate class we will study the sacred Medicine Wheels of this place, opening to its native spirituality. We will integrate this into a powerful hands-on healing technique, the Healing Wheel of Life. A crucial part of our learning is engaging in experiential exercises and ceremonies that bring us into a greater understanding and sense of unity with all creation. Open to all.

Five wonderful Office Angels (Janet Bergman, Paula Evenson, Patty Strickler, Barbara Bobrowitz, Jane Pollard-Fridlund) where at church on last week Friday morning.
They helped me and Spirit United very much. They did spring cleaning chores, rearranged things to create order and efficiency, assembled 100 Visitor Information packets, completed the office's long list of "Things To Do", communed around food, and talked and laughed together in joy.

Enhanced Prayer Ministry
Your prayer requests will be held in community meditation with sacred intention everyday for one month.
An expanded and rich prayer ministry is here to enhance the power and intention of your prayer. A group of individuals will pray simultaneously every day for one month per request.
Our guidance comes from Healing Presence and Spirit United's Guiding Principles.
All who come to Spirit United are invited to use this service.
To use this enhanced prayer line, use the prayer request form and place it in the prayer box (currently a prototype) on the table next to the meditation room. Be specific with your prayer to provide specific focus. Your request will be honored for one month.
Know that you will be given the option to request your prayer be published in the Spirit United's e-newsletter. The newsletter reaches hundreds of people who may also pray for your request.
This evolving service is inspired by and in memory of Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan. These beautiful souls now live in the heavens and continue to guide us as they live in the hearts of our community.
