Many of us started our journey feeling alone, pushing our way through a thicket of claims and confusions. When we did pause to look around, we found we are not so alone. We began to meet others learning this new language, exploring this different culture. We also discovered that countless souls have gone before us, leaving footprints. We will explore companionship, inner, outer, visible and ineffable. We are Companions Along The Way with
luminous images, lots of Rumi quotes, sacred chant, and open sharing.

We are pleased to announce the second in our concert series featuring local artist Barbara McAfee in concert and in conversation to provide a more intimate connection with Ms. McAfee, her gifts, and creativity.
Barbara McAfee is a singer, songwriter, keynote speaker, author, and voice coach who merges lessons from 12 years in organizational development with the transformative power of music. Barbara is the founder of the Morning Star Singers, a group of volunteers who bring songs of comfort and healing to people in hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes.
Your evening's host is James Schattauer, our music director. James will provide pre-concert music and help facilitate conversation between Ms. McAfee and the audience.
Barbara's CDs and book will be available for sale.

Freedom's Box

Long ago, I used to feel comfortable thinking inside of the box.
Later on, I felt clever, by thinking outside of the box.
Then I found more freedom; I started by,
letting myself become the box.
I noticed when I filled the box with my being-ness; I felt something wonderful and magical happen.
The seemingly two-dimensional box transformed into a three
dimensional cube.
I have discovered that love needs space for freedom,
to express itself through itself.
The cube is a perfect space for love, to transcend itself through my higher-self and me.
Maybe to some, all of this geometry seems a little square; for me this connection ratio feels golden and even sacred.
Now I know; freedom is not about thinking, in or outside of the box:
"True freedom is being the box!"

Enhanced Prayer Ministry
Your prayer requests will be held in community meditation with sacred intention everyday for one month.
An expanded and rich prayer ministry is here to enhance the power and intention of your prayer. A group of individuals will pray simultaneously every day for one month per request.
Our guidance comes from Healing Presence and Spirit United's Guiding Principles.
All who come to Spirit United are invited to use this service.
To use this enhanced prayer line, use the prayer request form and place it in the prayer box (currently a prototype) on the table next to the meditation room. Be specific with your prayer to provide specific focus. Your request will be honored for one month.
Know that you will be given the option to request your prayer be published in the Spirit United's e-newsletter. The newsletter reaches hundreds of people who may also pray for your request.
This evolving service is inspired by and in memory of Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan. These beautiful souls now live in the heavens and continue to guide us as they live in the hearts of our community.
