The Wild Moon Bhaktas' sound is born of the timeless folk rhythms and wide open mystic spaces that lie between the ghats of the Ganges and the banks of the Mississippi. Raised on the roots music of their own country, then nourished by the music of India's Bhakti-Yogis and Sufi Mystics, the Wild Moon Bhaktas play kirtans and heart chants in Sanskrit and English and sing the ecstatic poems of Rumi, Kabir and Mirabai. They will share a Sufi story, Fatima, the Spinner and the Tent.

We are pleased to announce the second in our concert series featuring local artist Barbara McAfee in concert and in conversation to provide a more intimate connection with Ms. McAfee, her gifts, and creativity.
Barbara McAfee is a singer, songwriter, keynote speaker, author, and voice coach who merges lessons from 12 years in organizational development with the transformative power of music. Barbara is the founder of the Morning Star Singers, a group of volunteers who bring songs of comfort and healing to people in hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes.
Your evening's host is James Schattauer, our music director. James will provide pre-concert music and help facilitate conversation between Ms. McAfee and the audience.
Barbara's CDs and book will be available for sale.

 Grace's Gift or Curse

Grace is the vessel in which the entity of Spirit expresses Joy through us.
Joy is love expressing itself, in constance of harmony in creation, which Spirit flows freely into consciousness of presence, through Grace.
Grace's gift is, when our inner joy awakens and connects by serving our higher-selves through our highest potential in the present moment of selflessness.
This special place is where our heart and soul meet, this is where "the creator becomes the created, and creation itself creates."
Like a musician/composer, transforms into their instrument, hearing it by feeling each vibrational note inside, the notes that resonates "come alive" and composes the music.
Once artists from all backgrounds surrender their personal egos and become one with the very instruments that create their creations, something magical happens.
Their work becomes pure expressions of love, brought to life through the breath of Spirit.
This is pure Grace itself, which transcends love vibrations into Spirit of the Light, caught in continuous loops of joy.
Observer's say: "At times participants look like they're in a trance or have been cursed."
Participants feel honored by sharing their special gifts, and from time to time from frustration, want to curse.
The truth is, we have all of eternity to observe, and we only have this limited time in this life form, to participate and express joy of the creations awakened, through us.

Sunday, February 23, a sign-up sheet will be in the back of the church to gather names for possible carpooling options and to contact the Dakota to see if we can be seated with one another. There are tables set for 2, 4 and more.

Enhanced Prayer Ministry
Your prayer requests will be held in community meditation with sacred intention everyday for one month.
An expanded and rich prayer ministry is here to enhance the power and intention of your prayer. A group of individuals will pray simultaneously every day for one month per request.
Our guidance comes from Healing Presence and Spirit United's Guiding Principles.
All who come to Spirit United are invited to use this service.
To use this enhanced prayer line, use the prayer request form and place it in the prayer box (currently a prototype) on the table next to the meditation room. Be specific with your prayer to provide specific focus. Your request will be honored for one month.
Know that you will be given the option to request your prayer be published in the Spirit United's e-newsletter. The newsletter reaches hundreds of people who may also pray for your request.
This evolving service is inspired by and in memory of Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan. These beautiful souls now live in the heavens and continue to guide us as they live in the hearts of our community.
