January 29, 2014

Greetings!

I'm Nobody - Who are you?
Are you - Nobody - Too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! They'd advertise - you know!

How dreary - to be - Somebody!
How public - like a Frog -
To tell one's name - the livelong June -
To an admiring Bog!

         February 9, 2014
        10:30am-11:30am

               "The Call"
        with Rev. Ron Moor
 and music with Claudia Schmidt

We have been disturbed, we have begun to wake up.  We have figured out we are seeking, but what is it that we seek?  In this second stage of our journey toward love and freedom we become aware that we are being called.  We consciously start our journey, we cross the threshold, often feeling all alone.  Rumi advises, "Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love."

LAST SUNDAY
School Sunday
January 26, 2014

"The Soul's Journey to Love and Freedom
Phase One: The Disturbance, Waking Up"
with Rev. Ron Moor

If there are discernible steps on the spiritual path, then waking up is certainly one of the very first ones.  How awake are you?  What disturbed you enough to raise you from your slumber?  It is our purpose to go through the steps of awakening together and perhaps to retrieve gifts from each phase.
We begin our adventure with luminous images, sacred poetry and chants of spirit.

 Enhanced Prayer begins in 2014

An effort to expand and enrich our prayer ministry is being launched....now.

All who come to Spirit United are invited to use this service.  Our guidance comes from Healing Presence and Spirit United's Guiding Principles.

We now have a prayer box (prototype) for individuals to write their requests for prayer.  Requests received will be honored for a month of weekly prayers. The box and the request forms have been placed on the table by the meditation room in order to make it easily accessible to everyone.

You may indicate your desire to have your request published in the e-newsletter.  The newsletter reaches hundreds of persons who may join in this service in their homes.  Another option is to request a member of Spirit Vine contact you if it is your desire to talk with someone.

This is a new, evolving service inspired by and in memory of Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan.  Their influences live on in our hearts.

THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
A temporary website page has been created on the internet for Spirit United while we rebuild.

Some links in the e-newsletter have been removed until the new site is created.  Be sure to look carefully in this newsletter for contact information.
