The Soul's journey of Love and Freedom is the goal of every personality.   Over eons of time the personality is honed into a thing of beauty;  strong, compassionate and healthy.   Now the Soul calls.   Personality cannot resist the call of the Soul.

"The Soul's Journey to Love and Freedom
Phase One:  The Disturbance, Waking Up"
with Rev. Ron Moor

If there are discernible steps on the spiritual path, then waking up is certainly one of the very first ones.  How awake are you?  What disturbed you enough to raise you from your slumber?  It is our purpose to go through the steps of awakening together and perhaps to retrieve gifts from each phase.  We begin our adventure with luminous images, sacred poetry and chants of spirit.

Rumi said 800 years ago, "Everything started with the cry of the craving soul,  'Nourish me for I am hungry. And hurry, for time is a sword.'"

    LAST SUNDAY
   January 12, 2014

"The Revelation of God Through Iconography"
             with
  community member
       Bettie Seitzer

Bettie led us on an amazing journey to understand and experience iconography of the Eastern Orthodox tradition.  Icons were created to teach and inspire the faithful in their pursuit of spiritual growth.  People often use them in their meditation practice.

a notice from Janet Bergman

An effort to expand and enrich our prayer ministry is being launched....now.

All who come to Spirit United are invited to use this service.  Our guidance comes from Healing Presence and Spirit United's Guiding Principles.

We now have a prayer box (prototype) for individuals to write their requests for prayer.  Requests received will be honored for a month of weekly prayers. The box and the request forms have been placed on the table by the meditation room in order to make it easily accessible to everyone.

You may indicate your desire to have your request published in the e-newsletter.  The newsletter reaches hundreds of persons who may join in this service in their homes.  Another option is to request a member of Spirit Vine contact you if it is your desire to talk with someone.

This is a new, evolving service inspired by and in memory of Marilyn Sholl, Gordy Chatterton, and Kathleen O'Donovan.  Their influences live on in our hearts.

The library is looking for someone to facilitate its organization and bring it a fresh, new look.

Cyndi Rolek has been leading this process for years and is ready to give the task to others.  She will teach the system, share thoughts, guide and help with tasks from time to time.  She is ready to give it to someone new.

Please, see her after Sunday service to learn more.  You will find her in the library.
