Timely Illusions

By Gregg Erlandson

Is the past and future just an illusion?

When I am in the present moment

I feel my awareness all around me;

nevertheless, I do not feel time.

What does time feel like anyway?

When I remember the past,

my perceptions of my memories change.

How does something change

that has already happened?

As for the future,

I have no recollection of it.

How do I remember something

that has not happened?

Therefore, my physical existence

in the past and future are only illusions.

In essence, we create our life experiences now

in this very moment.

With the realization

illusions are only my limitations of the true beauty,

of being here now, in this moment.
