"Just think of the trees: they let the birds perch and fly, with no intention to call them when they come and no longing for their return when they fly away. If people's hearts can be like the trees, they will not be off the Way."

"Heavenly Signs for Right Relationships"
with community member, Dennis Acrea

Each of us has a purpose which is largely inherent in the set of relationships we have over a lifetime.  Some relationship are short, others are long-term.  Whether or not we judge them to be positive, we (and they) are invited to grow in conscious awareness. The astrological signs give us clues to key areas of learning wherein we can gain insight and understanding.

"My Kingdom is Not of This
                 World"

 with guest speaker Bill Torvund

Many seekers often contrast the question of the meaning and value of temporal life with the nature of spiritual life.  The passage in the New Testament (as written as a quotation of Jesus)  - "the Kingdom of Heaven is here, it is simply that people do not see it" is often misunderstood and has been for the basis for severe (and often inhumane) treatment of Christians and others. It is also used as a justification for the total disregard of the Earth and the physical realm.

In this school Sunday format, quoting from the original Aramaic, Bill Torvund will clarify the meaning of this passage and offer a unitive perspective on the nature of the sacred in all realms of existence, and the statement (as Jesus states in the Logia of the Thomas) "the Kingdom of Heaven is here, it is simply that people do not see it."

Last Sunday's Service
August 18, 2013

"Technology and Health:  A Balanced Perspective"
with Dr. Kara Parker, holistic practitioner

The message began with an amazing       story read by Micah White, Dr. Kara's son.  You won't want to miss it! Then, she shared her process for being able to put the concepts of technology and health together, rather than separate them from one another.  She spoke of personal experiences, questions, curiosities and realities she has observed in health care, patients, and society today.  Dr. Kara brought a new technological tool she uses in her healing work to explain how it works and demonstrate its use.  She engaged us in a dialog from which participants shared thoughts and experiences.

Click here to listen to a very thought provoking and masterful discussion about technology and health.

$40.00 ($45 sat the door) by August 30

The purpose for the workshop is to deepen our understanding of our relationship with time, money, energy and resources in our work and in our lives.  Even though we theorize about abundance, many of us need to reconcile deep ambivalence about our desires for the good life with one's spiritual values.  Sometimes making peace with teachings of renunciation as well as awareness of the needs on our planet seems hard to balance with the demands and choices of modern life.  When is enough, enough?  Many carry karmic memories of poverty; others equate godliness with lack; still others think wealth of all kinds indicates blessings from above.  Part of the intention of this workshop is to face without blinking the hard questions that arise on this complex subject.  The ultimate goal is for each of us to find our inner peace about all our resources and then consciously choose how we will use them.

 Our Relationships with Grace
by Gregg Erlandson

Our relationships are essential and imperative.

More often than not, they reflect the relationship that we have with ourselves.

For better or worse, or like it or not, all behavior that we see and feel
resonates this, with truths about us.

The truth is we are our relationships.

If we feel dissatisfied, or want improvements through change, make sure that change starts with us.

With our own willingness to treat ourselves with kindness,
that expresses and expands our inner joy of being, through goodness in the present moment.

Without feeling that need to defend or justify the past or future.

The human heart's natural state of being has the infinite ability to love,
only our own resistance, of our unconscious minds, restricts this natural flow.

Now in this present moment, we are the captains of our ships, and our compasses are set to true north, in life's infinite seas of possibilities.

Relationships are that vessel in that sea, which Grace celebrates love, through Spirit.
