July: Money and Economics

This Sunday  School Sunday
July 28, 2013
10:30 - 11:30am
The Soul of Money, Money as Soul
by
Rev. Ron Moor.
  Ron Moor 7.2013
Democrates and Republicans fight about it.  The Haves seemingly have it and Have-Nots do not.  What is your imagination of money?  What attributes do you associate with money?  Power, freedom, energy, excess, perversion, bling, greed?  How much is enough?  How might we begin to change our relationship with money to bring more soul into our communal and individual world?

Finally, what does this beatitude mean to you?   "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." How might it be related to our topic?

Next Sunday's Early Service:
WAGS AND WORSHIP

Wagsand Worship
Join us on this first Sunday of August when Spirit United hosts "Wags and Worship" ... a celebration of All Beings, where pets are welcome.

To attend the second service, as well, we ask that you drop your pets back home before returning to Spirit United.

Next Sunday's  Service
August 4, 2013
10:30 - 11:30am

"Technology and Consciousness:
          Does Technology Enhance
          or Detract from Consciousness?"

with guest speaker
 Isaac Chelfetz

What do each of these terms mean to us?  What was the impact of previous technology revolutions on people's perception of consciousness, such as Gutenberg's printing press, or television?  What is the relationship of technology to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs? Take some time to reflect on your thoughts.  It will be an interactive presentation.

"To Those Who See"
by
Rev. Elizabeth St. Angelo

Elizabeth began the message with an amazing meditation and then a letter written years ago by Apple to " The Crazy Ones". This letter was the introduction to many concepts including developing higher mind, imagination as the doorway to the soul, soul being the kingdom within you,  and money as a major veil today. I left Sunday feeling refreshed and hope-filled.   Do not miss Elizabeth's message.  It will support you.  Click here to listen.

The Events Team Beckons!

This is an all-call for those who would like to be in the know and at the leading-edge of bringing new and wonderful seminars and events to Spirit United.  Many hands, each doing a small part of a large event or seminar, can make it happen with wonderful results...e.g. how the church was renovated in only one week.! Working together, we can bring excellent people, seminars, classes and new ideas to those in our church as well as to the greater community.

PLEASE JOIN US AT 12:30 ON THE 4TH OF AUGUST FOR A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW CONCEPT OF AN "EVENTS TEAM" AT SPIRIT UNITED.  LEARN HOW YOU MIGHT LEND A HAND OCCASIONALLY TO HELP US CREATE A GROWING AND DYNAMIC SPIRIT UNITED.
