Next Sunday (10:30 Service)
Marc Anderson Presents:
"Ideas Don't Transform People, Practices Do!"
April 7, 2013 10:30-11:30
Marc will be talking about the importance of being intentional about practices that nourish our well-being and development. Healthy practices heal us personally and sustain the community. It is through our ability to listen closely to our intuition and the needs of the community that we know what practices are important and how to incorporate them in life so that they are sustainable and balanced. Mark Anderson is a Zen Buddhist Priest who is also a sought after professional percussionist in the Twin Cities. He is bringing mindfulness programs in to the public schools as well as leading meditation/drumming practices in a number of locations in the Metro area. Mark has been a practitioner of meditation for over 30 years. His immersion both as a consummate musician and in Zen meditation, allows Mark to speak to both sides of the brain in engaging ways. Come and experience a journey of mindfulness, music and meditation.

The Mysteries of Easter
Saturday, March 30, 1:00-4:00pm
By:
Rev. Ron Moor
What is Easter, really? Why are there so many different celebrations on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox? What is the deeper meaning of the events of Holy Week? What is the resurrection? What does it all mean to 21st century humans striving to regain their connection with creation and creator, with soul and spirit?
With images, lecture, discussion and meditation, we will explore the magic, the myths and the deep psychic truths of this special time of year.
Love offering requested: All proceeds will go to the redecoration of our gathering space.

MOVIE NIGHT
Friday, April 5th from 7:00-9;30pm
"NUMEN"
This is a documentary focusing on the healing power of plants and the natural world. Filmmakers Terrence Youk and Ann Armbrecht traveled the US to speak with doctors and herbalists, ethnobotanists and others about how our disconnection from nature affects human and environmental health. They also sought to discover how healing is made possible by embracing our place in the wider web of life.
Featuring stunning footage of medicinal plants and moving interviews, Numen provides viewers with a new vision of medicine and offers concrete steps to improve individual health and well-being that also enhance the health of the earth. 95 Minutes. Discussion follows the film.
Free Popcorn!
A suggested donation of $5.00 is appreciated.

Spirit United Matters
- The Meditation Room will be open from 9:45 - 10:15am each Sunday morning. Know that your presence in this place of peace and serenity will be most welcome. Kathleen O'Donovan and Glenn Kline will be there to hold the space for all who wish to join in the silent meditation.
- Drumming is Back! We kicked off our monthly drum circle with a Spring Equinox Drum and Ceremony on Friday, March 22. Over 30 enthusiastic drummers, rattlers and dancers participated. New members Patti Gmeiner and Michelle Thelen lead the ceremony as we released outmoded habits to the compost heap and planted new seeds of being in our window box. We will gather for drumming on the third Friday evening of each month, so see you on April 19, starting at 7:00pm.
