The Spirit United Men's group is a soulful, safe and confidential circle for men to be heard and speak from their hearts about what is going on in their lives.  The group is open to all friends and members of Spirit United.

Movie Night
Pillars of Faith
March 1, 2013 from 7-9:00pm
 
This installment of the Pillars of Faith series dissects the world's three major religions - Christianity, Islam and Judaism - and examines the traits they have in common, rather than focusing on their differences. 
 
The program features footage filmed at important religious sites around the world, significant works of religious art and interviews with respected scholars providing a comprehensive overview of each faith.   Discussion follows the film.
 
A $5 free-will donation is suggested.

A Saturday, March 2, Intensive:
By: Center for Wholeness at Spirit United 
  
Depression occurs when drains on our life force are so great that we lose the ability to restore our self.  We can find our self in an ever-descending spiral into darkness and hopelessness.  Energy Healers, as aware, knowledgeable and compassionate caregivers, can be of help. 
  
Bringing light into the darkness and assisting the soul on its journey is a sacred task that goes beyond the realm of secular psychology.  We will learn traditional approaches of working with this afliction in cultures where the secular and the sacred have not been separated.  We will learn how to enter the higher realms of being so that we can access and channel powerful yet refined flows of energy that can be of assistance and support to those struggling with all levels of depression.  
 
Open to all.  $90.

From the dark side of the moon

To face my brother the sun

East - fire of the sun consuming my fear of being

Bring the eagle

Bring inspiration and the wind that follows the blush on Gia's cheek

Who I am meant to be - red, energy, and inspiration

I call upon you Fortitude and Strength.

Be me.  Be woman.  Be one in Gia.

 

From the land of yellow maize and golden wheat

The great bison

Bright green, young plants that provide nourishment and health

South - home of youth and health and prosperity

I call upon you to give me youth, strength, and energy

Bring me the sustenance to nurture and heal others

To be the never-empty vessel of Gia's love, healing and strength.

 

From the dark blue land of the setting sun

West - where whisper the ancient truths

Blue and grey whales swim in the belly of Mother Earth

I call upon you to fill me with the wisdom that resides there

The lessons once learned and sometimes lost

The way to use the stars to find my path

Guide my ambitions and desires so I may respectfully learn what I need of the Great Mystery, Wankan Tanka. 

 

From the land of the Great White Bear

North - the long, dark hibernation

The solitude of the soul

The sacred place of the dream world

I call upon you to bring me inner peace and silence so I may hear the inner truths

Remember the Sacred Rites

And be at peace with my dark side and the midnight sun of Awakening

Spirit United Matters  

  • New Members' Class will be held on March, 10, following the service.  The prospective New Members' joining Ceremony will take place on March 24th during the scheduled service.
  • As promised, the community will have two opportunities to imagine what Spirit United can be in the future through participating in both the the planning session  for the "who are we and where are we going" forum on March 24th and by participating in the forum itself.    Those interested in working with the planning group are asked to meet in the Kids With Spirit room after church on February 24th from 12:15 to 3:30.  
  • Author and Producer, Austin Vickers, along with Samuel Goldwyn are excited to announce the Saint Paul Premier of their acclaimed Documentary...People v. the State of Illusion.  This film centers around stress, self-awareness and the science and power of our perceptions and imagination, bringing in principles of hope,  creativity, responsibility and accountability in a movie format that entertains as well as educates.  Event:  March 1, 2013 at Landmark Center in Saint Paul.  7:00pm.
