Spirit United Matters
-
Beginning with the January School Sunday (Jan. 27th), there will be no verbal announcements from the floor during that, and all subsequent, School Sundays. Announcements for that day must be submitted to the Spirit United office by 9am on the Wednesday
prior to the School Sunday. A handout containing all announcements will be provided. - Just a reminder that there are people in our community who are greatly affected by perfumes and the strong scents of essential oils. Please have consideration and refrain from using those items before a service or class.

January 23, 2013
Greetings!
"Anything that removes what grows between our hearts and the day is spiritual....the aim of all spiritual paths, no matter their name or origin or the rigors of their practice, is to help us live more fully the lives we are given."

This Sunday's Service (a School Sunday)
January 27, 10:30am
Sophia, The Soul of the World
To begin our year-long theme of Living The New Paradigm, we must establish our foundation. Social observers say that at the core of our problems is a disconnect in consciousness...that is, Soul. But what is Soul?In the wisdom texts of the Western World, Soul has a proper name: Sophia.
For our first School Sunday, we will explore the myth of Sophia, how we lost her, how we can reconcile with her and why we need her. With consciousness renewed, we will walk and work with Sophia, co-creating the world we all long for. |

Last Sunday's Service
My Time With Dr. Martin Luther King
A Personal Reflection on the Civil Rights Movement
By Cliff Robbins
It was historically interesting and enlightening to hear both Mr. Robbins' reminiscences about the chaotic and often terrifying times he experienced during the protest years of Doctor Martin Luther King, and the life lessons he has carried with him that have made a difference.

JULIA ASSANTE LECTURE
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH
7 - 8:30 PM
HISTORY'S SEXIEST GODDESS
OR THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD?
Inanna/Ishtar has long been considered the goddess of love, sex and war, and regarded by most historians as the goddess of prostitution and as a prostitute herself.
The research of Julia Assante, PhD Columbia University, a specialist of the ancient Near East, has disproved this understanding. She will explain how these misinterpretations came about and show how Inanna's unabashedly sexy hymnal literature and bold sexual images were really used by the ancients for protection and well being, rewriting history and restoring Inanna to her rightful status. This lecture is not to be missed. Q and A follows.
Cost: SU Members and those registered before Feb. 1st - $20
or $25 for Non-members registered after Feb. 1st
To register, download a Registration Form Here . |

THE LAST FRONTIER
BOOK TALK AND BOOK SIGNING
BY JULIA ASSANTE
February 8, 2013 7-8:30pm
Julia Assante, PhD Columbia University, will be presenting concepts from her highly acclaimed new book, The Last Frontier: Exploring the Afterlife and Transforming Our Fear of Death.
She will speak about what happens after death and the enormous benefits of communicating with our departed loved ones. She will highlight the differences between ghosts and the deceased, tell us how reincarnation works in simultaneous time and speak about the miracle of the death process.
Dr. Assante claims that each of us has the innate ability to communicate with the departed and therefore the only thing that separates us from those who have transitioned is the fear of death itself. When we overcome that fear, it unleashes our inborn authenticity and then life really begins.
This talk is free to all. A $5 free will donation to Spirit United would be appreciated. |

ASSANTE WORKSHOP I
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH - 9:30AM-5:00PM
THE INNER SENSES AND AFTERLIFE
COMMUNICATION
This workshop is designed to open your Inner Senses for accessing all the subtler inner dimensions of reality, including the afterlife. The inner senses are the foundations of your physical senses, and it is through the inner senses that the deceased communicate with us.
Using our inner senses fully sharpens our awareness of life purpose and leads to a dramatic increase in creativity, problem solving, self-trust, perception and spiritual awareness.
In this workshop, we will awaken the inner senses of sight through remote viewing and aura reading, of touch through empathic healing and charging our electromagnetic fields, and of telepathy and inner listening through after-death communication.
Cost: $99 through January 31, $120 thereafter.
Spirit United Members - $99 at any time.
To register for this workshop, click here.
NOTE: Price Reduced if Registering for BOTH Saturday and Sunday
Workshops. |

ASSANTE WORKSHOP II
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH - 1:30-6:00PM
LIVING YOUR DEATH
This workshop will help reduce or even eliminate whatever fears you might have about dying. Without the fear of death, your authentic self comes to the fore, life purpose is sharpened, and creativity and intuitive faculties are enhanced. Anxieties and the need to compete give way to self-trust, service and taking more risks.
In this conclusion to our special weekend, Dr. Assante will lead you through your future death. Participants typically experience life evaluations, leaving the body momentarily, entering into the afterlife and meeting deceased friends and relatives.
This workshop will open your eyes to the miraculous side of dying and the beauty of transition. You will see your life in a wholly new perspective, the perspective of immortality, and be able to perceive that ultimate creative moment when the dying leave their bodies.
Cost: $75 through January 31, $90 thereafter.
Spirit United members, $75 anytime.
NOTE: Price Reduced if Registering
for BOTH the Saturday and Sunday
Workshops. |
