Stop Loss Carrier Discounts for 2014

Discounts Range from 21 - 66 Percent

The Alliance has secured more than 20 stop-loss carriers to offer a discount for our employers that are members of the cooperative. Discounts range anywhere from 21 to 66 percent.

We are able to offer this preferred pricing by requesting a thorough evaluation of our contract effectiveness and network of providers.

To view the list of carriers along with their contact information click here.

As a reminder, we are always adding new stop-loss carriers to our list. If you know of a carrier that you would like us to reach out to please contact Andrea Shaw, 608.210.6644. Visit our website periodically to view new carriers that are added.

Find a Doctor - Launched Aug. 26

The Alliance® is pleased to announce that it has launched its new Find a Doctor website to give consumers easy-to-access information on everything from quality ratings and health care costs to how far a clinic is from their home.

Find a Doctor replaces The Alliance's provider directory, so we are asking our employers' business partners to replace their existing provider directory links with links to Find a Doctor.

Find a Doctor delivers powerful tools to help consumers search for health care providers based on many different factors. It's mobile-friendly so consumers can access it from smartphones, tablets and other devices. As a bonus, employees and family members on a health plan that uses The Alliance network can log in to see cost estimates for more than 70 procedures.

You can view this new tool by going to www.the-alliance.org and clicking on Find a Doctor. Please note that some portions of the site, such as procedure-specific cost estimates, are restricted to health plan members who use The Alliance network only.

We have developed a toolkit to help employers and their business partners introduce Find a Doctor to employees. You can find more information about Find a Doctor and the employer toolkit at these links:

QualityPath® Designated Hospitals Named

The Alliance recently announced the hospitals that will participate in the
QualityPath initiative.

QualityPath identifies hospitals and physicians that - when working together - meet proven standards for delivering quality care for total hip replacement, total knee replacement and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).

The designated QualityPath hospitals are:

For Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee Replacement:

  • Meriter Hospital, Madison, Wis.,
  • Monroe Clinic, Monroe, Wis.,
  • Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, Ill,
  • St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, Wis.

For Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG):

  • St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, Wis.

Designated hospitals will qualify to perform QualityPath procedures beginning Jan. 1, 2015 when working with designated QualityPath physicians, who will be announced in December 2014. Employees and family members enrolled in an eligible health plan will have 100 percent health benefit coverage for pre-surgical care, the surgical procedure and follow-up care, such as physical therapy, when it is performed at a QualityPath provider.

"We are happy to direct interested employers, health care providers and patients to more information about QualityPath's ability to drive better value, contribute to better outcomes and deliver a better patient experience," said Cheryl DeMars, president and CEO of The Alliance.
