Assistant Professor Carl LeVan launched his new book, Dictators and Democracy in African Development: The Political Economy of Good Governance in Nigeria, on January 14 at SIS. Associate Professor Charles "Chuck" Call, pictured with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, was reappointed to the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund advisory group.

Professor Christine Chin received the 2014 Yale H. Ferguson Award from the International Studies Association-Northeast for her book, Cosmopolitan Sex Workers: Women and Migration in a Global City.

Distinguished Practitioner in Residence Lt. Gen. David Barno (Ret.) and Distinguished Scholar in Residence Nora Bensahel launched a new column, Strategic Outpost, in War on the Rocks.

The AU Model UN team, led by Assistant Professor David Bell Mislan, received three awards at the McGill Model United Nations Assembly 2015.

Associate Professor Keith Darden answers three questions on the conflict in Ukraine: "U.S. weapons would not deter Russia or the separatists from taking more territory. It would give them incentives to push further than they might otherwise intend to go.�

Distinguished Scholar in Residence Nora Bensahel answers three questions on the defense budget and Pentagon confirmation hearings: "The defense budget will remain limited to $499 billion, and the big debate over the next few months will be about how to allocate the $35 billion in required cuts.�

Assistant Professor Stephen Tankel answers three questions on U.S.-India Relations: �Obama�s attendance at Republic Day suggests that, for all the constraints that exist, the relationship is on the right track and growing stronger.�
