MGSHPA
HORSESHOE PITCHERS'
Ringer Digest
April 2014
Official Publication of the Minnesota Gopher State Horseshoe Pitchers' Association
Hello everyone!

Well, spring is almost here and I cannot wait until we are pitching shoes again OUTSIDE!

I am really excited about this year in horseshoes.  I would like to remind everyone of some  MGSHPA office positions that are coming up for re-election:  the Northeast, Southeast and East Metro vice president positions, as well as my position as president. In my 15 years in office, I have met a lot of nice people and being part of this organization has made me realize that we really do have the best and hardest working people in horseshoes. If anyone is interested in any of these openings, I need to receive a letter by August 1. Serving in one of these positions will allow you to truly see what I am talking about.

To all the league directors out there, thank you for your hard work! Please continue to encourage your club members to bring a friend or two. The more people we bring into our sport, the stronger we become as an association.

With everyone's help we can make 2014 an exceptional year. See you on the courts!
Dues and incentive program
by Bonnie Holland, Secretary/Treasurer/Membership Director

Each and every Minnesota horseshoe pitcher is more than ready for the
upcoming season, after the horrific winter we all had to endure! Just a brief reminder that the dues are still $30 even though there isn't a printed Digest anymore. And when you send me your membership form and check, also send me your email address.

We are having a membership incentive program again, so make sure you let your new member buddies know to  provide your name when they send me their registration so you can get in on the contest. I, myself, have one entered already and I am working on two more possibilities! We all have to work on getting our membership numbers up once again. And with everyone more than anxious to get outdoors I think we should not have a problem with that.

So league secretaries, keep up the good work in getting your rosters to me as early as you can. And don't forget to let me know when the Men change status to the Elder division. That is very important to get their NATSTATs in correctly.

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the e-Ringer Digest! We hope that all of you will enjoy the benefits of this newsletter being sent to you as an online publication.
We understand that there are going to be some folks who just don't have email/internet access. We have a few suggestions to solve this problem.

The number one way to resolve this problem is to find someone who can print off a copy for you. I encourage every club to survey your members and see who cannot access the Digest online. Appoint someone in ...

by Shawn Warnemunde, Promotional-Club Advisor

Spring is FINALLY in the air as you are reading this article! What a brutal winter we had up here in the northland.

Well, April is the month where many clubs will partake in their spring meetings and it is during this time I urge all club members to not only talk about the upcoming season but also discuss the recruitment of new members. Now is the perfect time to invite someone new to a meeting or discuss ways to invite the public out to your courts. There are many ideas that could work ...
