PTA General Membership and Volunteer Appreciation Night
|
|
Thursday, May 14th, 6:30 pm
Please join the Puesta del Sol PTA and staff so that we may heartily thank you all for everything you do at Puesta del Sol. In addition, the 2015-2016 PTA budget will be presented at this meeting. The staff will be providing food and drinks and there will be a presentation from Robin Wallace-Wright: Helping Parents Become Their Child's Main Resource Around Puberty. Please RSVP by Thursday, May 7th to AdminSupport@puestadelsolpta.org so that we can ensure we have enough food and thank-you gifts for all who attend.
Robin Wallace-Wright is a certified Sexuality Educator who specializes in teaching parents how to talk with their children about puberty and growing-up. Research has shown that children need information before going through puberty. This eases their transition and helps them feel more comfortable about all the changes. Her presentation provides parents with strategies that really work.

Overdue Library Books
Notices via email will be going out this week reminding families that their books are overdue. As we near the end of school it is crucial to find and return overdue books, or pay for lost books. Payments can be made on-line at the Bellevue School District website - look for Touchbase to pay for a lost book, or by cash or check made out to Puesta del Sol. Last day of check out will be May 29th, but students will still have regular library time until the end of the school year.
Thank you all for helping to keep our book collection up to date and in good health!! Please speak with Mrs. Brody if you have any additional questions.

Next week is Screen-Free Week, an annual, international celebration when families, schools, and communities swap digital entertainment for the joys of life beyond the screen. Instead of watching TV, surfing the web, or playing with apps and video games, they read, play, think, create, get active, and spend more time with family and friends. For more information, contact Srta. Zelda.
