Get Ready for the Science Fair! Registration ends March 7th

**NEW** Wednesday, April 1, starting at 5:00 (K-1) and 5:30 (2-5)
The Puesta del Sol Science Fair is a celebration of the scientific method, providing students an enriching opportunity to explore science outside the classroom. The goal of the Science Fair is to allow students to develop a deeper appreciation for the proper method of scientific discovery. It provides a fun environment for students to solve problems and tell a story. More information is on the PTA website on the Science Fair page. Parent volunteers are needed for various support roles, including set up, judging, room monitors, tear down, photographers, greeting students, food sales and the scavenger hunt. Please choose your area of volunteering when you complete your student's online registration for the Science Fair. Registration for the Science Fair is now open! Registration ends March 7th.

Calling All Bakers - Science Fair Needs You!

Please help make this year's Science Fair Bake Sale a success. We need baked goods to be sold at the fair as well as volunteers to take shifts for sales. Please contact Annie Robinson at arobinson105@yahoo.com if you plan on dropping off goodies and/or you would like to help at the table. Items can be dropped off at the PTA office (there will be a big labeled clear bin) up to two days before the event or dropped off at the Bake Sale table during the event.
- Please no peanuts or peanut butter in the baked goods. Packaged candy is also welcome for those with severe allergies.
- Items need to be individually wrapped and will be sold
for only $1 - Anyone handling cash (selling) must be a member of the PTA

Come join us for our annual Art Appreciation Gallery Night!
There will be a variety of creative art projects on display from our Puesta del Sol students. Thank you to our motivated Art Appreciation Volunteers for developing art lessons every month for the classrooms.
The 2015 PTA Cookbook Classroom Art Projects will also be on display at the Gallery Night. These wonderful projects will be auctioned off at the International Festival on March 21st, 2015. So, get an early view before they go to auction!

Buy your tickets to see our talented students perform cultural dances, songs, and music! We will also have a Bake Sale with yummy goodies donated by wonderful Puesta del Sol families.

Make sure to get your 2014-2015 yearbook ordered before Friday, 3/27. There will be no ordering available after this date, as the yearbook will go to print with pre-purchased orders only. To order, please click here - you'll be prompted to login to your PTA account.

A panel of experts will be discussing the importance and benefits of instilling empathy in children
- understanding WHY instilling/practicing empathy is important (what are the benefits to the child, class and school)
- leaving with ideas/tools of what parents can do to instill empathy
- understanding how they can practice expressing empathy towards their child
- knowing how it affects academics, learning, social-emotional development
