September Assembly: A Musical Start to the Year
Monday, September 22, 2014
It was a great honor and privilege to start off this year by having internationally renowned musician Carlos Nuñez perform at our school assembly. Nuñez introduced the students to the traditional bagpipe music from the Galicia region of Spain. He also talked about his background and the various instruments he plays, including the traditional Galician bagpipe, Galician flute, ocarina, Irish flute, whistle and low whistle. Señor Nuñez was brought to us by The Consulate of Spain, he delighted the students with a few musical numbers and called volunteers up to stage to help him in the performance. Towards the end, the kids were even playing instruments and dancing to the two-step rhythm. The crowd connected with the artist and couldn't had have a better time that morning.

Parent Forums on Graduation Requirements for Class of 2019 and Beyond!
Parent Forums have been scheduled to discuss New Graduation Requirements for the Class of 2019 and beyond. These forums are informative sessions for parents to notify them of the potential changes to the Bellevue School District Graduation Requirements that will come into effect for the Class of 2019 and beyond. The changes have been precipitated by the Washington State Board of Education in response to the new Core 24 Graduation Requirement legislation that was approved last spring. This legislation's goal is to have every graduate College and Career ready. Executive Director of Schools John Harrison will lead the forums. The School Board Graduation Advisory committee will be in attendance to answer any questions.
The same information will be presented at four forums. Please plan on attending the forum that works the best for your schedule.
