Amity Interns Have Arrived!
|
|
As your kids settle into their new routines at school, so do our new Amity Interns. Because of your generous support, the PTA is able to fund having four Amity Interns with us this year. The Amity Interns will be supporting the teachers in the classroom and they will be participating in all our community events and activities throughout the year. Each Amity Intern has written a brief bio about themselves so you have an opportunity to learn more about who they are. Please look on the right hand side of the newsletter for their bios and contact information or here.
When you see them around school, be sure to introduce yourself and help us welcome them into our school community. Consider inviting them to your home for dinner, or if your family has a fun activity planned, invite them along. The Amity Interns are also available to tutor.
Each intern will live with three families within our school community for 3 1/2 months. Twelve families have agreed to host the Amity Interns. We would like to thank all the families that have graciously opened their homes to the Amity Interns this year. We could not do this program without you!
If you would like to learn more about the Amity Intern program, please check out their website at www.amity.org

Hello my name is Makarena González I'm 22 years old. I would like you to call me Maka. I'm am from Temuco Chile. I'm very happy to be in The school and to spend some times with The kids and The host families. Some of my interest are reading, watching movies, tv shows like friends or gery's anatomy, going to concerts and travel. You can reach me via Email.

I am Jesús. I was born 24 years ago in a lovely place in south of Spain where the life is a pleasure but I spent a time living in other cities and abroad (Germany). I have studied teaching (3 years), sport sciences (2) and a master in soccer physiology, of course also languages (German and English) which are the tool to learn about a foreign culture. The knowledge for me is like when you are looking a picture and everyone has different things to say and contribute. It´s the reason why i wanted to come to USA and get rich in experiences and wisdom. I just came some days ago, full of energy and i am really excited of everything . I feel like at home thanks to my host family and the welcome in Puesta del Sol has been the same. It´s going to be a great year! I would like to finish with my personal motto to describe myself: there are to much excuses to say ¨i can't do it¨ but I have excuses to say ¨I can do it¨. You can reach me via email.
