First Day PTA Forms and School Forms

This year, the PTA and the School have separate forms.  For the PTA, please make sure you fill out your 1st Day PTA Forms found here! They are due Wed. Sept 10th! 


 

For the Puesta del Sol Elementary School/BSD forms, please look for Linda Rochlin's 3 emails, read carefully, only print out and sign what you need and hand into the front desk or teacher.  If you did not receive emails from Linda Rochlin, please contact the front desk to ensure your email is in the school's messenger email system.  The PTA and the School use different email lists.

PTA General Membership Meeting

Agenda Items: General Membership Vote for Budget Changes & Election for the VP of Teacher Relations position.  Melissa Richardson has been appointed the interim VP of Teacher Relations by the PTA Board due to the resignation of the prior VP.  Nominations will be taken from the floor.

All School Ice Cream Social

Friday September 5th 6:30pm in the upper playground


I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream... Bring the entire family out to celebrate the beginning of another school year with a yummy bowl of ice cream.  Meet new friends and catch up with old friends.  Celebrate that the first week of school is behind you and get ready for a fun year! This is not a drop off event!

Hearing Screening Volunteers Needed

Tuesday September 9th

 

Karen Ruby, our new school nurse needs our help! Hearing screening for all students will take place on Tuesday September 9th from 9am for training until 1pm.

 

If you can help out, we would really appreciate it.  Please pop into our SignUp Genius here and pick a slot! Feel free to recruit a few friends to fill up the slots!

Picture Day - Parent Volunteers needed

Tuesday September 16th

 

Picture day is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16.   All students will have their photos taken for school records and the yearbook, even those who don't place orders. Class pictures will also be taken and will not be taken again in the Spring. We are in need of parent volunteers for the day, to help retrieve the classes and organize students and order forms. Please contact Barbara Mullen if interested.

WALKATHON

Friday, September 19, 2014   3:30 to 6 pm, Rain or Shine

 

RSVP: Log in and let us know- yes or no. It will help the staff direct your kids after school. Classes with 100% response by Tuesday September 16th will get a popsicle on Walkathon day.

 

T-SHIRTS will be in class colors - EVERY child that has RSVP'd receives a T-shirt! Registration closes Wednesday, 9/17.

 

Raise Funds: Kids can get per lap pledges or flat rate amounts. 

We ask each student to strive to raise $150 (or $300/family). We appreciate support at any level! www.puestadelsolpta.org has links for parent and other family and friend donations. We have a sample letter that you can email along with the link to encourage family and friends to donate.

It's that time of year again!  Puesta del Sol Elementary School is gearing up for its annual WALKATHON fundraiser on Friday, September 19, 2014. This event raises funds for the school and all the wonderful programs which make Puesta del Sol so special and unique.

WALKATHON Raffle Items

We are in NEED of raffle items.  Please let me know if you can make a donation to help support our children. Kid-centric items are best:

 Passport Club: Kick-Off Work Party

Please join us for our annual work party. We'd love to have returning volunteers and eagerly welcome new recruits. We are getting ready for another amazing year and we need YOUR help! We're looking for 15-20 volunteers (or more...the more the merrier!).

  • Why: To label, collate, staple, and organize the Passport resources for our 1st - 5th graders. We'll socialize and nosh as we prepare for the new year of Passport!

The 6th Annual Watch D.O.G.S. of Western Washington Golf Tournament


 
Sunday September 28th

 

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering that gets Dads and Father-Figures more involved with their children's education by volunteering at least one school day out of the year.  You are invited to participate in this fun golf tournament that supports all of the participating schools in Western Washington with Watch D.O.G.S.

A warm welcome to our new principal, Sr. Jonathan Shearer. He and the teachers have been hard at work getting ready for this fantastic school year. We have 3 new teachers: Sra. Chaparro in K, Sra. DeMate in 4th and Sra. Mattson in 5and Gia Tomihama in Special Ed.  We have some new specialists as well including Art and Band!
