4th and 5th grade Drama Club 2014: Pinocchio
Time to plan for Pinocchio!

- Rehearsals begin with auditions May 5th
- Mandatory rehearsals for Tech Week are June 9, 10, 11, & 12

Common Core Information Night

This evening is designed to inform parents of the upcoming shift to Common Core State Standards from Washington State & Bellevue School District Standards. This informative evening will be to discuss:
- Overview of the Common Core State Standards
- English Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Impacts in Other Areas
- Smarter Balanced Assessment
- Questions and Answers
Heather Edlund, Director of Curriculum for Bellevue School District, will provide a brief presentation for parents and answer questions regarding the actions BSD is taking to support teachers and prepare our classrooms for the transition to Common Core in grades K-12.

Elementary STEM
Thursday, March 20 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
WISC - Rainier Room
Comprehensive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education in elementary school helps prepare kids for rigorous coursework in middle and high school, and increases the chances they'll consider careers in STEM fields. K-5 STEM Curriculum Developer Greg Bianchi will explain how an innovative new pilot is taking STEM education to Bellevue elementary schools and share some of the exciting early results.

|  Rain City Water Polo is a year round water polo club that caters to all ages and ability levels. Whether your student has played during Midlakes in the summer or wants to try it for the first time, we have a spot for everyone. We also offer Splashball which is a great way for young children to get exercise while having fun. Volunteers Needed
|  Auction Volunteers Needed on Saturday March 29
Would you like to attend the auction but don't want to buy a ticket? Or maybe you are already going and would like to help out a bit as well! If so, consider helping out at the event as a volunteer! We need volunteers to help with set up during the day, closing the silent auction, runners, selling raffle tickets, registration, check out, security etc. You can commit for a couple of hours before or after the event or during the event. We also welcome high school students in need of volunteer hours.

Amity Interns: 2014-2015 Host Families Needed!
We are so fortunate to have the interns at our school. They are invaluable to our teachers and add so much to our school community.
We are anticipating having 4-5 interns next year, so we will need 12 (possibly 15) families to open their homes. Please fill out and submit your applications now. This is handled on a first come first serve basis.
