I think he is wrong and that we won't be able to turn the tide for the Boy Scouts until the Membership problem has been resolved. But at least he's talking about it. (It's at the end, but you should listen to the whole thing.)
Maybe some of the power that the Local Council's need to get back is the ability to modify the Membership policy to reflect the values of their local communities.
But for now my job is to teach and demonstrate leadership to the scouts in my troop.
We discussed our participation in the San Francisco Pride Parade at their Patrol Leaders Council meeting last week. There was not just willingness but also excitement about participating. (The world is changing...)
