The Boy Scout's Executive Board made me lie to a bunch of kids.
I told the scouts that if they were gay they would be allowed to be part of a venturing crew until they were 21. Now anyone who listened to me faces being kicked out next year. The same with OA.
When the people running the Boy Scouts aren't Trustworthy what does that say about the rest of us?

How do you justify an organization who's Executive Board is too cowardly to tell its own members what is going on?
The resolution -- obtained early Tuesday by NBC from a well-placed Scouting source -- to change the age requirement was not made public after it was approved by the executive board in February.
Actually, why are all of these boards meeting in secret anyway. Why do the Boy Scouts have so much to hide?
And what's the point of having a National Council if they aren't even going to discuss the most important issue in scouting?
"The BSA is currently considering how to establish consistency in the age requirements for registration across its various programs including Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Venturing and Order of the Arrow," Smith said from Nashville, where the organization opens its annual meeting on Wednesday.
Smith noted this change would not be discussed at the meeting nor would any action be taken on it.
When did the Boy Scouts become a totalitarian regime?
This is not Leadership.
Total compensation for the top five Boy Scout executives in 2011 was $ 3,484,310.
This is $1 from every cub scout, boy scout, venturer, and volunteer. This isn't raised through donations but through required membership fees. (Which were increased by 60% last year.)
Scouts spokesman Smith said the salaries are justified because the organization "seeks and retains nothing less than the best talent available."
I disagree, I don't think we're getting our money's worth. Also, some of the best talent available happens to be gay, which makes them ineligible to work for the Boy Scouts.
Local councils are required to follow the party line.
As long as the Local Council Volunteer Boards are required to follow National's policies and continue to enforce National's discriminatory policies they are part of the corporate structure. They are in a rough place. They either stand up to National or the parents and local leaders will stop giving them money.
Because, we are the only ones who can stop this. We have the ultimate power. We are the ones paying for it. The scouts, parents and local leaders are the Boy Scouts, without us there is no program.
