ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement invites sophomores or juniors interested in applying to the Peace Scholar program to come to the Borlaug Room (Union) on Sunday, November 20 to hear Betsy Fawcett '17 and Nathan Campbell '18 give a presentation about their experience as Peace Scholars in Norway. The Program provides funding for two students to work at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer, and take classes at the University of Oslo Summer School.

The Career Center is accepting applications for a Career Assistant work study position to begin working Spring Semester 2017 and continue into the 2017-18 academic year.  Position requires approximately10 hour per week. Work includes assisting peers with resumes and cover letters and data entry.  A detailed job description is available in the Career Center. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to Carol Johnston in the Career Center by 5 p.m.Wednesday, November 30.

Senior Paper Cupcakes at Preus Library! Celebrate completing your senior paper with delicious cupcakes, available at the Research Help Desk on Tuesday, November 22 from 11 to 4:30 p.m. Flavors will include Devil's Food, Lemon, and Applesauce Spice. Don't wait! While supplies last. 

Harley Refsal, Luther professor Emeritus and James Miller, current Luther student will have a wood carving demonstration in the Book Shop on Saturday, December 3 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 4 from 12-1:30 p.m. They have created a limited edition Luther College wood carving figurine. On Sunday, December 4,  Brian Andreas, alumni and creator of StoryPeople, will be signing his new book, Bring Your Life Back to Life: A Guide to Effortless Joy,
from 12:00-1:30 p.m.

To offer an alternative, feminist perspective of the Reformation, Arnfríður Guðmundsdóttir will give a lecture titled The Lost and Found Women of the Reformation at 8 p.m.Thursday, December 1, in F.W. Olin Building, Room 102. Guðmundsdótti will lead a Brown Bag lunch at 11:45 a.m. Friday, December 2 in the Borlaug Room of the Dahl Centennial Union.

RERUNS
SAC Fall concert, Parachute with opener Lissie, is THIS WEEKEND! Parachute is a pop punk band from Charlottesville, Virginia. Head down to Regents on Saturday, November 19to hear them and Lissie ROCK THE HOUSE! Doors open at 7:00 p.m.and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale NOW! FREE with CAF or $25.00 without. Sponsored by SAC Concerts.

Stay Healthy for the Holidays! Health Service will be sponsoring a flu clinic on Friday November 18 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Dahl Centennial Union, Williams Lounge. Students may charge their student account. Staff/Faculty may pay with cash or check. Cost is $25. Flu vaccine is also available anytime during office hours at Health Service.

When the UK voted for Brexit, many people who were immigrants and refugees experienced harassment and fear. The idea of wearing a SAFETY PIN caught on as a way to identify oneself as an ally to others around them. The US has taken up this idea to help those who feel scared or nervous to identify who is an ally. If you would like to wear a safety pin to show your support, come get one in the Diversity Center. More information 

Featuring a repertoire of classical compositions, the Luther College Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 19, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart's "Overture to La Clemenza di Tito," and Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll." The orchestra will also perform Haydn's "Cello Concerto in D major" which will feature Philip Borter, Luther assistant professor of music, on cello.

The Luther College Concert Band, under the direction of Joan deAlbuquerque, will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 20, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The performance will be streamed live at stream.luther.edu/music. The band will perform works by Percy Fletcher, Percy Grainger, Rossano Galante and Joseph Turrin.

The Luther College Music Department and the students of Fall Opera Scenes present Operatic Duets: Friends & Lovers!
The drama unfolds on November 18 at 7:00 p.m. and November 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall. Come for the romance and the laughter! See you there!

The Center for Sustainable Communities is seeking a work study student to carry out the job of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the 2017-2018 academic year. The student hired for this job will start training in the Spring of 2016 with the current coordinator. Read more about the position and apply by November 27on the Sustainability Work Study webpage.

The College is establishing a new policy in which Luther email accounts for students, faculty and staff will require Google 2-Step Verification. Faculty and staff must enable Google 2-Step Verification prior to December 1, 2016 for all Luther email accounts in order to continue to successfully sign in. Students must enable Google 2-Step Verification prior to February 1, 2017 for their Luther email accounts. You may enable 2-Step Verification yourself or attend a session for assistance.
