Satellite Absentee Voting Station
On Wednesday, October 12 (8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) and Thursday, October 25 (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.), Luther will host a satellite voting station for November 8 general election. The voting station will be located in the Dahl Centennial Union on the main floor. Precincts for which ballots will be available: Precincts 5 and 6 only. This includes Decorah Wards 4, and 5; Decorah Township in Supervisor District 3; and Canoe Township.

Voter registration forms will be available for new registrations in the county. Changes in the registration records of people who are currently registered within the county may also be made.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Language Learning Center (Main 215) offers drop in tutoring, conversation tables and language activities in Chinese, French, German, Linguistics, Norwegian, Russian and Spanish. We can help you learn the basics, prepare for exams, review homework, practice your speaking, or help you be better prepared for some study away courses! No appointment necessary. Schedules are posted around campus, outside Main 215 and available online.

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will hold an Informational Conference on Friday, October 21, 2016. Pre-Registration required by October 17. Interested in  Physical Therapy as a career? Learn about entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program and U of Iowa, how to prepare your application, roles and responsibilities, and take a tour of DPT Program's facilities. A copy of information can be picked up in the Career Center as well.
 
2016 Government and Non-Profit Career Fair - sponsored by Minnesota College and University Career Services Association on Friday, October 28, 2016 on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If interested in attending, please stop by the Career Center to sign-up by Friday, October 21. Many internships and career opportunities are available within all levels of government and nonprofit organizations.
 
Mayo School of Health Sciences Educational Open House to be held on Thursday - November 10, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Phillips Hall, Siebens Building - Mayo Clinc in Rochester, MN. Iowa Institute of Human Genetics, Careers in Human Genetics Information Day will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016, 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the University of Iowa Campus, Iowa City, IA. Open to anyone interested in career paths and possibilities in rapidly growing field and the diverse career opportunities in human genetics. Enrollment is limited, so register today!
 
Minneapolis Career Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Embassy Suites, Minneapolis Airport (7901-34th Avenue South, Bloomington, MN) Event runs from 11:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. Register and print your ticket to this event. This is a free event for job seekers.
 
RERUNS
LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE! October 13 is the due date for books checked out from the main stacks by students on or before Sunday, October 9. Books may be renewed once online or by bringing them in physically to the circulation desk if you have exceeded the renewal limit. The new due date is December 9, the last day of classes this fall. Click on "Library Account" online and sign in with your NorseKey in to see what you have checked out and when it is due.

Luther College will spray the lawns with herbicides to provide well-maintained, visually attractive grounds for Luther students, employees and visitors, and to control undesirable weeds on athletic fields. Weather permitting, the date for spraying is the evening of Friday, October 14, with Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16, set as back up days as needed.

McElroy Fellowships: Graduating seniors intending to pursue a Ph.D. in any field; $30,000 stipend over a three-year period; Luther may nominate only one candidate, but only 10 colleges may submit nominees for the two annual awards.
