Looking for a roommate? Residence Life will be holding a gathering for students who are still looking for a roommate Thursday, April 28 at 6:45 p.m. in the Mott Room. This will be a great chance to meet others that need roommates for the 2016-2017 academic year!
 
Stars Wars Party: Wednesday, May 4, 9:00 a.m.-4:45 p.m. the Book Shop. From 11-11:30 a.m. Derek Sweet will be signing his new book "Star Wars in the Public Square: The Clone Wars as Political Dialogue." There will be games, discounts, food, and more. Wear a costume and receive a special discount. May the 4th be with you....


 KWLC presents the second annual 'KWLC Block Party' on Saturday, April 30 with performances by The Weathered Heads, Meadowlark Valley, and Spiked Milk. A hog roast lunch (payable by meal swipe) will be provided by the Norse Culinary Team, as well as a clothing drive sponsored by Luther College Sustainability. Join us from 11am to 3pm for an afternoon of music, food, and sunshine!

The Visual and Performing Arts department presents Tony Kushner's, "The Illusion," April 29-30 and May 5-7 in the Jewel Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6, and 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7

Representing the culmination of 17 dedicated students' art journeys, Luther College senior art majors present a gallery exhibit of their collective works May 5-22 in the Kristen Wigley-Fleming Fine Arts Gallery and the Gregerson Gallery in the Center for the Arts. A reception for the student artists will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Center for the Arts.

Looking to earn some end of year cash and spend a few extra days on campus? Luther Sustainability is partnering with the Food Pantry, the Spectrum Network, and the Depot Outlet to donate food, clothes, furniture, rugs, and more during student move-out and is looking to hire students to help with the process. Interested? You should be! Contact Sam Pollan by April 29th to sign up!

Study Abroad Forum on Tuesday April 26, 7-8:30 p.m.
Come to Valders 262 to meet with someone who has been to the region you'll be going to! We will have people representing Asia, Africa, South America, Continental Europe, in addition to having individuals highlight Norway and the Luther Nottingham program. You can come hear about some great travel tips, apps, and websites. If you're considering studying abroad in your future, this is a great event for you too!

"Good Grief" - Students who have experienced the loss of a loved one are invited to join College Ministries and Counseling Service for the final gathering of the semester. A light supper will be provided. The gathering is Thursday, April 28 from 5:30-6:30 pm in Nansen (second floor of the Union). Call Mary in the Counseling Service at 563-387-1375 with questions.


Luther College's Jazz Orchestra will perform a  tour homecoming concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The performance concludes the Jazz Orchestra's Jazz Appreciation Month tour of the Upper Midwest. 
 
With more than 100 brass performers, Luther College's brass ensembles will present a concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall.Luther's Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble, and combined Brass Choir will perform both modern and classical works, including arrangements and original compositions for brass.

 at Preus Library: On Wednesday, April 27, delicious ice cream will be available at the library entrance from 4:30 to 5:15 for students who have completed their senior papers
. Those who attend will also be eligible for giveaway prizes.

The Spring Open Chess Tournament will be hosted at Marty's on April 29 from 7:00-11:00 p.m. The winner walks away with a chess board and a chess medal. The other finalist gets a chess medal. The prizes for the finalists were sponsored by the Chess Club. For more information contact: [email protected] or join the chess club Facebook group. 

The Tau Delta Gamma sorority will be hosting our annual Bowling For Boobies event on May 5, from 6:00-11:00 pm at Oneota Lanes. For $5.00 each participant will receive one game, bowling shoes, a chance to win one of many giveaways, and pizza while supplies last! All proceeds will be donated to the Winneshiek County Celebration of Life.

Come join SAC and special guest, Ken Barr Jr, the Director of Student Strengths Development at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, in a dynamic lecture on how to thrive with your strengths. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, April 26 in Valders Hall of Science, Room 206 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a reception in Valders Concourse at 8:45 p.m. There will be food, conversation, and Luther's first ever "Strengths Poster Gallery" viewing (posters are by Luther students).

Come get delicious BBQ pork ribs, blackened shrimp skewers, bacon braised kale, potato salad, and LC Hawaiian rolls on Friday, April 29 in the Cafeteria from 5-7:30 p.m.. All this can be yours for a meal swipe plus $5 (can be Dining Dollars). 
 
Student Coach Position for Women's Basketball - Work Study stipend position available. If you are interested in coaching basketball in your life after Luther and want some hands on experience, this is the job for you! Must be available during practice times, October - March (nights & weekends). Practices are 4:00-6:00 or 6:00-8:00. Prepare a resume and drop off in Coach Amanda Bailey's office, RC 213. Women's Basketball Manager Position - Work Study hourly position available. If you enjoy basketball and want to be a part of the team, please contact Coach Amanda Bailey for more information. Must be available during practice times for the months of October - March (4:00-6:00or 6:00-8:00). Responsibilities also include filming home games throughout the season - evenings & weekends, and other tasks assigned. For more information or to apply, email Coach Bailey. Interested in becoming a music technician? SAC is now hiring Marty's Techs! Apply for the opportunity to see great shows, meet incredible artists, and have a work-study job that you enjoy! Experience with sound and lighting equipment is preferred, although training is provided.
