The Luther College Visual and Performing Arts department presents stories of tragedy and triumph in the play "The Man Who" at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, in Studio II in the Center for the Arts. "The Man Who" is a play that tells the stories of neurologically damaged patients in a hospital, and how they learn to adapt to life. Organized as a first-senior January Term seminar, this performance will be performed, designed, and managed by Luther students under the direction of Professor Jeff Dintaman.
It is time for the annual January blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross and Alpha Phi Omega! The blood drive will take place on Tuesday, January 26th from 11am to 5pm located in Brunsdale lounge. If you are interested in donating, you can visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767 to make an appointment or for more information. Walk-ins are also welcome! Contact Melissa at
with questions or concerns.
The Honors Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that Alexis Hove has been awarded a Wigeland/American-Scandinavian Foundation Scholarship toward her intended study in Norway at the University of Oslo in 2016.
Before tossing your old course supplies from J-Term, consider if someone else can get another use out of them and bring them to the Office Supplies Reuse Closet in Valders 364. Simply place the supplies in an orderly fashion on the shelf to the right of the door. Remember, the more you give and the more you take, the more successful this project is! Feel free to grab binders and folders for your Spring classes as well! For any questions, please contact the Center for Sustainable Communities.

Members of the Luther Community,
We have been closely following the developments regarding safety concerns associated with hover boards. Recent information from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has revealed that the batteries in these devices are dangerous and prone to exploding and combusting, creating a personal safety and fire risk. These devices are especially dangerous when they are recharging. The NFPA issued fire warnings and stated some hover board fires involved a lithium-ion battery or charger that leaked fluids, was prone to excessive heat and produced odors, sparks and smoke.
In response to these safety concerns, effective immediately, the use, possession, or storage of hover boards and similar devices, including Swagways, IO Hawks, and Skywalkers, is prohibited on campus. Thank you for your consideration and cooperation. Corey Landstrom, Vice President and Dean for Student Life Eric Runestad, Vice President for Finance and Administration
