Using cold water to wash clothes reduces energy consumption by roughly 90 percent compared to using hot water. Preserve the integrity of your clothes by avoiding hot water, which has been shown to weaken threads. Cold water prevents stains from setting into fabric and most modern detergents are designed to function in lower temperatures. Save money, time, and your style by making the sustainable decision to use cold water.
