ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALLING ALL ASPIRING BROADWAY STARS! Upload a 90-120 second video of yourself singing a Broadway show tune to Singing with the Broadway Stars. All who enter will receive a free concessions item at 100 Years of Broadway on Friday, September 18at 7:30 p.m. Runners-up will receive a free CD of the show and sing one chorus number with the cast. The winning entry will sing a solo part in the show finale, receive a free CD, and more!

The Center Stage Series is excited to kick off our season with 100 Years of Broadway on Friday, September 18 at 7:30pm in the CFL. Come hear the most iconic songs from Broadway's biggest shows including Wicked, Rent, and Chicago! Broadway performers with composer Neil Berg will create a night you'll never forget! Bring your laptop to our workshop and learn how to download Zotero and set it up to manage your resources (available for PCs and MACs). Michael Chesher, Luther College associate professor of music, and special guest clarinetist Tod Kerstetter from Kansas State University will collaborate with Luther faculty Jessica Paul, piano, and Lynne Postudensek Hart, clarinet, on a recital at7:30 p.m.Saturday, September 12, in the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall.The program consists of varied works for one, two or three clarinets, bass clarinet and basset horn.

Jonathon Struve will perform a voice recital at7:30 p.m.Sunday, September 13, in Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall. Jessica Paul will collaborate with Struve on the piano. This evening of art song will feature selections from the Mörike-Lieder of Hugo Wolf, mélodies by Gabriel Fauré, and American art songs by Ned Rorem and Lee Hoiby.

Join the community in thanking Pastor Amy Zalk Larson for her ten years of service to the college at a reception Thursday, September 10, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Hammarskjold Lounge, with a brief program occurring at 3:00 p.m.  In August, Pastor Amy began serving Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Decorah.

H Drive storage space is provided to students enrolled in a Computer Science course and continuing students who already have an H Drive. Beginning with the Fall 2015 Semester, incoming students are to use Google Drive for file storage. For details, see Student H Drives.

Study abroad in the UK during J-term! Listening Live will take you from London, to York, to Edinburgh, to the Isle of Skye. Luther College has been awarded a five-year federal grant to continue and enhance its' TRIO Achievement Program. TRIO provides participating students with holistic, individualized support and comprehensive programming that promotes academic success, personal development and sense of community. In the first year, Luther will receive $284,754. The total five-year amount is projected at approximately $1.5 million. The Luther College TRIO Achievement Program currently serves 185 students, including nearly 60 first year students.
