Fall Semester Opening Convocation -- Join the community in celebrating the start of a new academic year and welcoming the class of 2019. Opening Convocation will be held Thursday, September 3, at 9:40 am. in the Center for Faith and Life. The speaker is Cristina Henríquez, author of The Book of Unknown Americans, the 2015 summer reading. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. If possible, office should close so all can attend.
*Seniors: Individual study carrels are again available for reservation on a first-come, first served basis in Preus Library. The carrels are located along the perimeter of the third floor and are assigned for personal use on a per-semester basis. Contact Eddy Atwell
to request a senior carrel reservation for the fall. There are a limited number dedicated for this use.
Change your Norse Key Password -- All Luther faculty, staff and students need to change their Norse Key password prior to the start of the 2015 Fall Semester. If you haven't changed your Norse Key password since receiving the all-campus message on Tuesday, August 12, you need to change your password. Visit norsekey.luther.edu. SAC Spotlight Performance: Dred I Dread will perform original reggae, ska, rocksteady and dub music at 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 11 in Marty's. Dred I Dread has shared the stage with Grammy-winning artist Jimmy Cliff, and Grammy-nominated bands The Wailers, Yellowman, Israel Vibration, Sister Carol and Third World. Tickets are available online or at the Ticket Office.
Class of 2016 SENIOR REGISTRATION - Seniors, don't miss this 30-minute session. Attend to register and learn about the services and resources available to successfully plan for LIFE AFTER LUTHER! Attend ONE of the following sessions: Tuesday, September 8, 6:30-7:00 p.m. or 7:30-8:00 p.m.; Wednesday, September 9, 6:30-7:00 p.m. or 7:30-8:00 p.m. All sessions are held in Olin 102. (Door Prizes will be given away at each session!) Sponsored by the Luther College Career Center.
Attention Students Registered for Private Music Lessons - If you decide to drop lessons the following schedule will be used to compute the charge for fall 2015: Dropping lessons: by September 6 - No charge; by September 13 - $42 charge; by September 20 - $84 charge; by September 29 - $126 charge; after September 29 - Full charge/$475. This schedule will be followed with NO EXCEPTIONS.
Fall Community Day - Faculty, staff and their families are invited to enjoy a day of food, fellowship and fun on Saturday, September 12 at the Regents Center. Registration required. The picnic BBQ costs $5 per person. Register on-line or call (563) 387-1164. Parents can reserve free "GO NORSE!" game pass t-shirts for their children. Shirts must be picked up at the picnic. Free Norse tattoos, activities and games for kids. Picnic lunch catered by U-2 BBQ begins at 11:30 a.m.
