ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tickets for the Spring 2015 Oratorio are now on sale. Handel's Messiah will be performed by student soloists, Cathedral Choir, Collegiate Chorale, Nordic Choir, and Symphony Orchestra on March 27, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the CFL Main Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students (18 and under). Tickets are free for all Luther faculty, staff, and students, and must be obtained in person at the Ticket Office. Tickets for the Minneapolis performance at Orchestra Hall on Sunday, March 29 are also available.

 

Luther Community Song Circle with Liz Rog, Thursdays in J-term,10:30 a.m.in the CFL Recital Hall. Join your voice to sing for the healing of the world and your own spirit. Open to all members of the Luther community, all voices are welcome, this is an audition-free zone. "We are the gift between earth and heaven / We are the song between sky and ground / Sing for your life and for this world we're making / Nothing is lost that can't be found."

Northeast Iowa Montessori has an immediate opening for Lunch/Rest Time Supervisor (10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.). Duties include engaging with and supervising children ages 3-6 years during outdoor play, lunch and rest time. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, have an interest in learning more about the Montessori educational philosophy, be dependable, patient, and have strong verbal communication skills. The Career Center is accepting applications for Career Assistant work study positions to begin working in February 2015 and continue into the 2015-16 academic year.Career Assistants work approximately10 hour per week assisting office staff with projects and assisting peers with resumes and cover letters. A detailed job description is available in the Career Center. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to Carol Johnston in the Career Center by 5 p.m. Friday, January 16.

Drawing on the community patterns of J-term, College Ministries invites people into community daily during J-term at 10:30 a.m. Monday and Wednesdays will involve music and preaching in the CRH; Tuesdays we will gather for Table Talk (informal conversation with the pastors) in Marty's; Thursdays we will gather for Community Singing with Liz Rog in the CRH; and Fridays we have the opportunity to walk the Prayer Labyrinth in the CRH.

 

The Honors Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that Emily Crowe has been awarded a Wigeland/American-Scandinavian Foundation Scholarship toward her intended study in Norway at the University of Oslo in 2015.

  

The Counseling Service is accepting applications for the Outreach Assistant work study position. The Outreach Assistant (7 hour per week) is responsible for writing blog entries, script writing and other outreach efforts. A detailed job description is available in the Counseling Service. Interested applicants should submit a resume and two blog entries (2 paragraphs each) focusing on college mental health topics to Stu Johnston in the Counseling Service by 5 pm on Friday, January 9.
