College Ministries will be collecting donations for victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan. Your donation to Lutheran Disaster Response, designated for "Pacific Typhoon Response," will be used entirely (100%) to help families whose lives and livelihoods have been impacted. Enjoy an afternoon of jazz with Luther College's Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz Ensemble at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Luther senior Elizabeth Martens and the Jazz Band is under the direction of Jon Ailabouni, Luther adjunct faculty in music.
The Luther College Varsity Band and Philharmonia ensemble will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. Directed by Jon Ailabouni, the Varsity Band will perform works by James Barnes, Percy Grainger, Charles Ives, Alfred Reed and Dimitri Shostakovich. Philharmonia, directed by Spencer Martin, will perform works by Georges Bizet, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Giuseppe Verdi.
