Rob Hogg, state senator from Iowa, will present a Luther College guest lecture, "A Call to Climate Action - America's New National Purpose," at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 14, in Room 102 of the Franklin W. Olin Building.
Luther's Active Minds student group and Counseling Services are sponsoring a screening of the Lifetime movie "Call Me Crazy" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, in Valders 206. Call Me Crazy: A Five Film" brings together an all-star ensemble cast with five interwoven stories about how love, support and hope can help us overcome emotional health conditions like depression, bipolar disorder and PTSD.

Luther Athletes Serving Others is sponsoring a Thanksgiving food drive through Nov. 19. The drive is designed to help those in the community that might not otherwise be able to put a big Thanksgiving dinner on the table. All donations received will go to the food pantry at First Lutheran Church in Decorah.

The Wind and Percussion Ensemble will present a fall concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. They will perform works by Tomohiro Tatebe, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Steven Reineke, Alfred Reed and John Philip Sousa. The Wind and Percussion Ensemble is a group of 50 select band students conducted by Joan deAlbuquerque.

On October 31, the Luther College Book Shop celebrated Halloween along with the arrival of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and their famous song, "Thrift Shop." The Book Shop asked the Luther community to bring in a donated clothing item in exchange for $10 off a new Luther hooded sweatshirt. The generous response of the Luther community brought in more than 30 items of clothing.
