Sonoco Supplies Awesome BD Dinner

At the recent Pack Expo show in Las Vegas, a group of Sonoco sales, marketing, and business development individuals hosted a dinner for one of our biggest medical customers, BD.

Representatives from Sonoco Protective Consumer & Industrial were there along with Sonoco ThermoSafe, Sonoco Alloyd, Sonoco Plastics, Flexibles, and more to teach BD about everything Sonoco has to offer.

The dinner was held at Carmine's in Las Vegas and aside from everyone eating too much, the dinner went off without a hitch!

This dinner is an extension of the Lunch & Learn meetings we've been doing to teach customers about our capabilities.  "Helping our customers understand the full breadth of Sonoco's offerings at events like this dinner is a key part of our strategy," said Scott Novak, VP of Marketing & Business Development.

Please contact Rob Cole for more details.

Sonoco's Rockin' Re-Designs

Sonoco has worked with medical company, BD, for many years in the past.  We've primarily manufactured vial trays for use to ship vials to your doctor's office in which to collect blood.

However, BD also manufactures many other types of medical equipment, including several large devices that need packaging.  In previous issues of Swing the Bat, we told you about the FX100 and the FX40 packaging projects for which we won the business.

Sonoco also recently proposed both a fabricated and a molded pack solution for BD's Phoenix 100 unit and based on our proposal, we were awarded the business.

Additionally, because of our excellent track record with these "Fabricated to Molded" packaging re-designs, BD awarded us the business for FOUR additional units without even having presented a redesign proposal!

The four units, are called the Viper, The MGIT 960, The MGIT 320, and the Max.

Congrats to the engineering team for excellent packaging design work!

Please contact Randy Kruska for details.
Material Handling Monthly Strikes Again!

In only three months of being in publication, Material Handling Monthly has generated at least as many leads!

This month, we had two inquiries was about our Transport Packaging Pallet line - FirmaMax. This is the plastic pallet line that is reusable, durable, and applicable in nearly any industry.  As Molly Brown, Sales/Marketing Rep for the Transport Packaging group said, "It is working!  We are getting more calls than ever!!"

Thanks to everyone who helps with this business and if you have any case studies and/or ideas for content on Material Handling Monthly, please contact Jessica Irons.
TransGuard Goes Modern!

The September issue of Modern Materials Handling was just released and they had a little blurb in their section called "FOCUS On Totes & Containers" highlighting TransGuard Universal Totes!

The TransGuard Universal Tote line was just re-launched and is ideal for customers who want the convenience of TransGuard, but don't want to buy a tool.

Our sales team has been armed with samples and information.  If you know of a prospect that would benefit from a sample or if you need a sample for yourself, please contact Jessica Irons.
