Sonoco Protective Solutions recently exhibited at the BioMED Device Show in Boston, MA. This show is a great place to network with design engineers and other medical professionals and to showcase our molded EPP component capabilities for the medical device industry.
This is the second time we exhibited at this show, and our 4th BioMED Device show to date. We got 46 leads at this show and made an important step forward as we continue to make our presence known in this unique medical community.
Thanks to everyone who participated and/or helped with the show!

Quality Results in Owosso |
Owosso has passed their recent TS 16949 Audit. TS 16949 is the International Quality Management Standard specifically written by the Automotive Industry with the goal of improving quality and assuring the integrity of supplies to the industry.
With Owosso having passed this audit, they have proven that their manufacturing facility is equipped to meet the high quality standards of the automotive industry. Given that Owosso is one of Sonoco's biggest automotive plants, this quality certification was imperative.
As Jeff Weingart, Director of Operations said, "Thanks to all for the hard work that went into this. I know there were a lot of changes with a new and more challenging auditor. We all appreciate the diligence and effort by the team!"
Contratulations to the entire Owosso team!

Whirlpool Recycling Champions |
In the recent Excellence in EPS Recycling Award competition sponsored by the EPS Industry Alliance, a joint project that was submitted by Whirlpool and Sonoco for their EPS recycling efforts won honorable mention.
To help bring more awareness to this award and to ensure that our customer, Whirlpool, received the recognition they deserve; Jessica Irons presented the award at a special ceremony at the new Whirlpool manufacturing facility in Cleveland, TN. Ben Armstrong, Sr. Environmental Engineer for Whirlpool was present along with the plant manager and several of the plant employees. Jason Ryan, the Whirlpool account manager, and CJ Drew, the Sonoco Recycling representative were also present at the award ceremony.
Thanks to everyone involved for making this project a reality. Whirlpool was very grateful that we could visit and will continue to work closely with Sonoco to recycle even more EPS in the coming year.
