Protective Solutions facility in Findlay, OH named "Zero Defect Supplier" to Mitsubishi.
Jack Redmond, a manufacturer's representative selling to the automotive market, went to the Mitsubishi on Friday, May 17th to accept a Supplier Award in our honor. Sonoco Protective Solutions has been named as a Zero Defect Supplier to Mitsubishi for 2012 because of our high level of quality parts supplied to that customer. This award is right in line with our strategy to focus on continuously delighting the customer and delivering on our promises. Hello Herman Miller FILO moveable workspace walls.
Sonoco Protective Solutions is working on a development project with Herman Miller called the FILO. This project is to design and manufacture moveable workspace walls and ultimately change the standard cubicle as we know it.
The products being worked on were briefly mentioned in a CBS Sunday Morning new piece on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Our product is shown around the 3:30 time mark of the video and is mentioned as the "upcoming release" of their moveable office line. Click HERE to watch the video. Ford Motor Company saves $300K per year with TransGuard Stand Alone Tote Solution
Valeo, near the Sonoco Protective Solutions Juarez Plant, supplies Windshield Wiper Blade component assemblies to Ford.
Recently, Sonoco Protective Solutions was able to help Ford save $300K per year until the end of the program by replacing their existing bulk containers and plastic corrugated inserts with a TransGuard Stand Alone Tote solution. Because of Sonoco's innovative engineering, Ford was able to get a return on investment (ROI) in just one year by switching to TransGuard. This win supports our TransGuard Material Handling strategy focus of converting as many fabricated solutions to TransGuard as possible. |
| Update on New Celaya Plant |

Just two months after groundbreaking, the new plant in Celaya is off to a great start!
Construction on the new plant in Celaya, Mexico is progressing well. The building's exterior walls, floor, and ceiling are in place and work is being done to complete the interior.
Two new EPP presses will arrive by the beginning of June to be installed during the second week of June. The other two new EPP presses will arrive in early July in order to start up EPP processing mid-July. The target to begin production at the new, state of the art facility is the end of 2013 with gradual ramp-up starting in August and continuing to full production at the end of the year. |
