Swing the Bat!
Special EPS Expo Edition
March 26, 2013 |
Greetings!
Did you know that Sonoco Protective Solutions is a member of the EPS Industry Alliance? Tegrant was a founding member of the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers (AFPR), which later merged with the EPS Molders Association to form the EPSIA. The role of the EPSIA is to serve as the unified voice of the EPS Industry and to help promote the benefits of using EPS in the packaging and building construction industries. Each year, the EPSIA hosts a big EPS Industry event called EPS Expo to bring together a cross section of professionals aligned to the industry to talk about the sustainability and promotion of EPS as a material choice in the packaging world. |
Sonoco Protective Solutions Attends Successful EPS Expo
Held at the Cincinnati Netherland Plaza hotel in Cincinnati, OH, this year's EPS Expo was very well attended and provided a great forum for industry collaboration. This was also the first chance for many legacy Sonoco team members to learn a lot more about EPS.
Scott Novak, Vice Chairman of the EPS IA Board of Directors welcomed everyone and gave a presentation on what the association has been doing.
Jessica Irons, member of the EPSIA Sustainability Committee, participated on an EPS sustainability panel that allowed attendees to be involved in a robust discussion of EPS sustainability issues. The discussion brought up many key points as well as several action items for the Committee to consider going forward.
