Sonoco Drives Innovation with 2014 Corvette

GM unveiled the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show on Sunday, January 13th.

As you can see in the picture, there is a sleek black grille on the front of the car, which requires special handling during transit due to the fragile nature of the part.  That is where Sonoco comes in with our line of custom totes and dunnage known as TransGuard.  We are in the process of building the TransGuard Custom Dunnage logs (shown in gray in the below pictures) for this part so that the grilles may be safely shipped from the supplier to assembly line.

Sonoco 'PePPs' Things Up for Toyota

Sonoco has just kicked off the 2014 Toyota Highlander and the 2014 Toyota Tundra projects in the Tullahoma, TN facility.

Sonoco will be manufacturing floor panels and dash panels out of EPP and PePP materials for these vehicles.  PePP is a special type of EPP bead that is helpful in reducing road noise heard inside the vehicle.

The Highlander will begin production in September of 2013 and the Tundra will begin production in March of 2014.
