Swing the Bat!
Special Article Edition |
Greetings!
The use of molded foam in packaging applications is well understood by our customers. However, as we continue to grow our molded foam component business, we often find ourselves not only having to identify, but also having to educate a new set of customers about the concept of using molded foam as an internal chassis. Our goal is to get product designers, project managers, marketers, purchasing, and engineers excited about the concept of using molded EPP to make their products lighter, save on assembly labor, protect sensitive internal components, simplify wire and tube routing and reduce overall product cost.
In order to do this, new methods are required. These include industry specific tradeshows, presentations at conferences, and articles in trade journals. We have aggressively been pursuing each of these areas and are proud to announce our latest article, published in the January issue of Appliance Design magazine, entitled "Think Inside the Box: Design for Manufacturing and Assembly." The article discusses the concept of reducing total part count in product designs as a way to decrease overall product cost; and how replacing the traditional sheet metal inner chassis of products with molded EPP foam is an ideal way to achieve a reduction in part count.
