Sonoco Helps Build Landing Gear fo r Dept. of Defense Planes! 
                                             
 

All American Racers, whose primary business is building race cars, also does contract work for the Department of Defense.  Protexic worked with All American to build a piece of landing gear that contained an EPP component part.

 

These planes are unmanned and serve as eyes for the soldiers so they can spy on the enemy from miles and miles away and help to keep America safe from terrorism!

Sonoco Joins EPS Industry Alliance Sustainability Committee 
 
Jessica Irons, Marketing Specialist for Sonoco Protective was appointed to the Sustainability Committee for the newly formed EPS Industry Alliance (formerly the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers, AFPR).    The first meeting was May 16th, 2012 in Chicago, IL where the team discussed how to further promote EPS Sustainability education.

Sonoco Launches New Dual Density Part for Ford 
 
Sonoco just won business for the side impact components for the 2013 Ford Fiesta.   

The part is a unique dual density part made of both 6.0 pcf EPP and 3.12 pcf EPP.  The part is not yet in production, but will be this coming summer.

Sonoco Employees Complete Internal Audit Training

 
Abid Rashid, Corporate Quality Manager for molded foam, conducted a TS16949 Internal Audit training program in the Juarez, MX molding facility.

 

All individuals who participated in the training passed and there are more training sessions scheduled for other plants in the coming months.
