Sonoco officially announced the new name for the recently created protective packaging segment, Sonoco Protective Solutions.  

We've all been using this name internally for a while, but it was made official to the public with a press release and an announcement at Pack Expo on Monday, October 29th, 2012.  

This name was chosen to highlight the fact that in addition to packaging, we do a lot of component business and offer an array of design, testing, and consulting services.  

 

Stay tuned for updates from your manager and from Corporate Communications regarding the name change.

Congrats to the Mt. Pleasant, TN facility for winning top marks from Mercedes Benz for supplier quality.

Mt. Pleasant scored 100% in September and has had a score of 100% for the past 12 months!

They also scored 100% in the "Best in Commodity" category and a 91% in the "Commodity Average Score."  

Congrats to the entire Mt. Pleasant team!  Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

This business that GE is moving back to the US from China and is a brand new product line for GE's Louisville, KY plant.  This project is a major win for Sonoco against our competitors, one of whom who also has a plant in Louisville.

Sonoco Protective Solutions automotive group has just recently been awarded business for the next generation Mazda 3 set to start production in late 2014.
