CJS Canada Summer Jobs

 

The period to apply for Canada Summer Jobs 2015 will be from December 1, 2014 to January 30, 2015.

 

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while helping both students and their communities.

Canada Summer Jobs provides work experiences for students; supports organizations, including those that provide important community services; and recognizes that local circumstances, community needs and priorities vary widely.

 

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.

Of key concern to rural and northern BC communities are (1) changes that will affect our regional office (Northern BC Tourism), (2) changes to how communities can access marketing dollars, and (3) proposed changes to BC Visitor Centres

UAB Urban Aboriginal People in BC's Job Market and Economy

 

An improved Urban Aboriginal Strategy (UAS) that will focus on collaboration and            partnerships to Increase the participation of urban Aboriginal peoples in the economy. In the UAS two programs will developed. The programs: Community Capacity Support (CCS) and Urban Partnerships (UP)

 

The Survey Tool will help develop a BC Regional Plan andn determine: 

  • Current patterns and experiences of Urban Aboriginal economic participation across BC;
  • Barriers to urban economic participation in specific areas of the province;
  • Successful programs and plans and;
  • Opportunities to build greater economic participation.
