A Note From Sarah
The stories of the life and times of Abraham Lincoln will always be important. We must keep those stories alive and relevant to future generations. In order to do so, an endowment fund is essential to assure the funding is available so that the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition can support the work of the communities throughout the 42 county Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area. Without the endowment fund, opportunities to keep Lincoln's legacy alive will be lost. To that end, the Looking for Lincoln Endowment Fund has been established. Along with the Fund, a bequest society has been established.
The Looking for Lincoln Bequest Society is designed to be one way to build the Endowment Fund. This builds the Endowment Fund in a way that transcends generations. The Bequest Society recognizes individuals and families who have indicated to us that they have made provision in their estate plans to bequeath assets to the Looking for Lincoln Endowment Fund. Members of the Bequest Society may choose to make bequests through their will, trust, beneficiary designation or other methods.
Upon notification from an individual or family that the Looking for Lincoln Endowment Fund is named in their estate planning, that individual or family become a member of the Bequest Society. With their permission, their names will be proudly posted on our website and recognized in other ways.
To learn more, please call me at 217-785-5268 or email me at swatson@lflhc.org.
We would be honored if you would consider the Looking for Lincoln Endowment Fund as you make plans for your estate.

Journey to Greatness
"Journey to Greatness: Character Lessons from the Past" is an interactive lesson designed to help students discover how the challenges they might face today, such as fear, prejudice, poverty, not fitting in, or anger, can be overcome by learning how heroes from our past, Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and Martin Luther King, Jr., overcame similar challenges when they were young.
The Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition is jointly presenting the program with the staff from Lincoln's Home NHS and the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency this spring at the Springfield branch of the Boys & Girls Club. Click here for more information.
