Did You Know...?

1. Cape Verde is a country that consists of nine inhabited islands, one uninhabited island, and various islets off the western coast of Africa.
2. Music is a key component of life on Cape Verde, and several islands stage exuberant carnivals, the best known being the Baia das Gatas Festival.
3. Cape Verde's population is a mix of Portuguese and African descent and most people speak Crioulo (a blend of Portuguese and West African languages).
