As you are well aware, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Nepal, effecting Kathmandu and many surrounding regions. Rescue missions are working around the clock to provide aid and sort through the aftermath of the devastating quake. According to RT News, the death toll has exceeded 7,000, in addition to more than 14,000 reported injuries. The United Nation's most recent report indicates that over 8 million people have been affected across 39 districts. Aftershocks continue to affect Nepal and surrounding areas; where food, water, and electricity are already in short supply. Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudel has issued the following statement: "We urge foreign countries to give us special relief materials and medical teams. We are really desperate for more foreign expertise to pull through this crisis."
