ePioneer                                                                                                               SPRING 2015
letterA LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings!

Just like the tires on our cars, sometimes our attitudes need an adjustment. Ask yourself, do you have a positive outlook on life? If not, why? With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to consider the benefits of a positive attitude. In the March 2014 article on the Mayo Clinic Website, the author suggests that a positive attitude can contribute to an increase in our life span, lower levels of depression and provide us with greater coping skills during times of hardship. It even suggests that it can assist in our defense against the common cold. Hey, I think I am ready to give this a try!

As bankers we become obsessed with positives: positive bank accounts, positive cash flows and a positive net worth, to name a few. Most important to a community banker, however, is a positive customer experience. We will strive each and every day to create a positive experience for you at the Pioneer Bank. We hope that together we can spread a positive attitude and that it is more contagious than the common cold!

Please let me know how Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin can do more for you.

communityANNUAL MITTEN TREE DONATION 2015

Each year, during the months of November and December, we allow our customers to decorate a bare Christmas tree, here in the Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin lobby at the main bank, with an abundance of mittens, hats, and scarves, and every time it has been a success! This year, we collected over 150 items to donate to the Rusk County Human Services Department. These items are then donated to help keep kids warm. Above, we have Linda Herrmann (left), with the Rusk County Human Services Department, accepting the 2015 donation from Sue Mogensen (right), our newest teller here at Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin's main location. (Sue recently transferred from our branch location.) A huge thanks to Linda and everyone at the Rusk County Human Services Department for helping our community stay warm!

tipsHEALTHY LIVING TIPS: FROM US TO YOU

1. Walk/run barefoot more often. This leads to better posture and puts less stress on your feet and joints.

2. Everything in moderation. Yes! You're allowed to let your sweet tooth kick in every now and again!

3. Eat all you want... VEGGIES that is! As a rule of thumb, go for bright-colored foods.

4. Drink more water - less soda AND caffeine! Putting a lemon in your water gives you an energy boost without the afternoon crash coffee gives you.

5. Give a smile to at least one person a day. It will make both and you and the other person feel good.

6. Your exercise output should be larger than your calorie input.

7. Positive thoughts create positive energy for yourself and everyone around you.

8. Get a good night's rest!

9. Breathe deeply. Your abdomen should expand and there should be minimum movement in your shoulders.

10. Have fun! When you're having fun, you're doing something you enjoy. This releases endorphins, which help alleviate stress.
